Do you trust in God or man? God is there to take care of the ones that he really loves. The ones he doesn't love, not so much. So, as one of his special children I know that he would never let me get sick or hurt.

Wtf why do you all beleve in Jesus, I'm not really religious at all you see, and I know some of you are gonna be pissed but really, have you ever seen jesus's remains, have you ever aucctly spoke to god, they used to beleve heaven was in the sky, now we know the blue sky we have is aucctly reflections of light off the ocean,lakes,clouds, and water vapors onto our atomsphere, so wtf?
And then this god guy, he says oh you either be good or you go to hell, wtf? I didnt ask to be born so why the hell do i have to abide by your rules?
Sorry nothing about any religion makes sense and as far as I'm concenered none have any real proof...besides giant books that talk about little red guys in thongs with pitch forks raping you in the middle of the earth.
Well anyway go ahead, prove me wrong please.

I'm a lil fellow, 5'4, kinda whispy, flamin red goatee, tatted up and scarred... and around christmas time I likes to wear me a Santa hat. Anyhow, I'm at starbux and this lil girl comes up and asks me,"Mr Elf, why do you look so grumpy?" Looking down into that sweet lil face full of beliefs in fairy tales and such I simply didnt have the heart to tell her there was no santa and I am no elf... so,"Well we work a lil hard this time of year and I am a bit tired but... I'll be fine. Thank you for caring though I will be sure your name is on the good list."

My question is though, do you ever feel that way when talking to religous believers? Face to face that is, its easy to fuss about things online but... dont ya sometimes feel like it would be wrong to shatter their illusions?

Please be honest,

I have read a lot about crucifixion, and am beggining to wonder wether or not the Romans really know how much it hurt!! Didn't they feel any compassion for the criminal when they were driving a nail through his hand?

Crucifixion was horrible!:

They put you in a "diaper"
They beat you senseless
They nailed your hands and feet to wooden cross
They let you hang from it for days begging for water, a clean diaper (giggle), and forgiveness...

Wow, now doesn't that sound narly? Plus, you could actually feel the nails in your hands as you hang from them and die.

Did the Romans care about you at all?

So I've had this observation lately and I just was hoping for some clarification.

It seems that many athiests don't just simply not believe in God or any other higher power, but often go out of their way to attack Christians and our beliefs (notice I didn't say ALL athiests do this.)

But I don't think I've ever heard an athiest attack a Jew, a Muslim, a Buddhist, or any other religious belief and call them stupid or ignorant for their beliefs.

Why is this? They believe in a God/higher power, too, so if you think Christians are stupid for what we believe, why don't you feel the same way towards them?

I just hate that if you say something against Jewish beliefs, you're "anti semitic" but if you attack a Christian that seems to be fair game.

And yes, I'm aware that many over zealous "Christians" give our faith a bad name, but there are just as many of us who practice the basics of our faith: love and forgiveness. So why so much hate?

if god is all powerful and didnt want us to sin he would not have put adam and eve in the garden of eden with the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and especially would not have allowed satan the tempter to come near adam and eve. can someone explain the logic? if you can't explain the logic behind your answers please do not answer.
