4. Reason
Mostly #1, actually. Most of the argument for god's existence is based upon anecdotal evidence, unprovable testimony, historical text of an unverifiable nature (at least to the degree that the miraculous cannot be verified), and the wonderful displays of morality thaqt have taken place over the centuries that have occured with sanction from supposed Godly people.

1.
The reason I became an atheist in the first place was because I realised that there was no more reason to beleive in a god than the toothfairy.
2 & 3 come into it as well but 1 was definitely origin.

I am an agnostic because of
Christians often say you are given the choice to accept Jesus. If you deny him, you are essentially responsible for sending yourself to hell.
First, I do not think everyone has this choice. Even though it is prevalent in the West, not everyone is exposed to Christianity in the world. Perhaps they have heard "of" it, but do not know about the ideals. If they are not given the information, they cannot make the choice.
This extends through time. The older you go, the less Christianity is spread out, especially through indigenous peoples. This also extends to before birth of Christ. I have not been satisfied with any of the responses I have heard for this of how people were "saved". They are usually inconsistent rationalizing.
Also, a large amount of the world is illiterate because of poverty and such. Even if you have heard of Christianity, it is from missionaries. I consider oral interpretations flawed, especially from groups that are concerned primarily with conversion before their high morality rates. It distorts the ideals and only focuses on salvation of heaven or damnation through hell
I also do not see how any god of any religion is that powerful if he only appears to such a small select of people to start with. It doesn't help that it has been spread out mostly through violent or oppressive means. If any god truly wanted to have message heard, he would have prophets in each of the major sectors of the world.
I will leave inconsistencies and contradictions out for now, since not everyone is a fundamentalist. (new earth, arc etc)
Lastly, the idea that moral people who do not accept Jesus will go to hell, but a rapist and murderer who accepts Jesus in prison will have his sins resolved does not make sense to me.

Well, they all are somewhat valid, but in order of priority for me it'd be 3,1, 2. The contradictions lead me to investigate further, which brought me to awareness that evidence was lacking. Once I stopped believing, I saw no reason - and still don't - to try and convince myself.

I can't understand why Christians believe their God is right - and other religions believe just as strongly that their beliefs are right ...... so who's right .... most likely no one. Maybe if we all (everyone of the world) believed in the same God and practiced the same religion I would be less likely to have doubts - but as it is there's too many choices!

they all go hand in hand. that's like asking a catholic to pick either the father, the son or the holy ghost.
i am not a believer because god is confined only to those parts of the universe we do not know about, and that keeps shrinking. e.g. gods were responsible for lightning until we determined natural causes for lightning, for infectious diseases until we found bacteria and viruses, for mental illness until we found biochemical causes for them.
