what do you think about their teachings. i am buddhist and have been learning about jesus. if you dont think about the after life. then their teachings are almost the exact same.

if jesus didnt talk about god. it would be buddhism.

i mean the precepts and the ten commandments are almost the exact same. and other things like it.

what are your thoughts about this?

hi everyone,
I need some help for a paper I am writing that is my final for English. It is on Ancient Egyptians: steps to reach the afterlife.
I have the following already
1. the five import elements
2.purifying the body and announcement of the dead
3. The mummification process
4. The embalming process
5. the bandaging of the body
6. the final procession
7. the opening of the mouth ceremony
8. The weighing of the heart.
I have 2000 words but and need only 500 more is the anything else I can add to it, that is a part of the Egyptians process in reaching the afterlife.
Thank you so much,

" even deep down right in there is nothing, but emptiness & darkness"

How does this quote and feelings like these contrast with what true believers in Jesus Christ have experienced for 2000 years?

with loads of questions on. I asked them about what they are, they said a religion. I asked if they believed in aliens, they said no. I asked if they believe in God, they said no. I asked what they actually believe and they said it was about spirituality and self improvement. But they didn't actually say that they actually have any beliefs or faith in anything. What are they? I mean, really? This sheet had questions on it like "Do you sometimes feel like you have said things to people which may cause offence?" Surely everybody does that. Are they just looking for gullible punters, or what?

I'm just wondering, and not to pity or diss at the homeless, but if there was a homeless guy alone with no relatives, how can they get a job if they have no (or lost) their SIN#, IDs, and etc, and got no bank accounts? Are there any special service to get them? But how can ppl know if the homelesses are actually THEM because they have no IDs what soever? It almost feels like they can create a whole new "them"

See I have thing against prophets, I believe no one is hearing Gods voice. So I said to God "if any come in your name before me and say God said this to me to say to you ...so and so. They must bring some kind of password to me". I am like a locked computer, I will not open to them unless they have one. So I have had 1 pastor, and like 4 Christians come to me saying God said this, but bring no password. They get mad at me and say God does not need a passward, for I am in his will. The pastor just ran from me and said I will pray someone gives you a password. Heck if God did not like my password they could have said it them selfs, to not test the Lord your God before they spoke to me. But no one comes to me with this password, but many come to tell me what to do in God's name.

I am a follower of only his voice, and I have tried very, very hard to listen for it. I am sure the thousands of christians that say they hear his voice..."think they hear it" or make it up. So why lie to me?

I've heard countless times that we are infringing on this right, which is the right to endorse their particular beliefs. Imagine instead that public schools were to give a Muslim prayer. In place of the 10 commandments would be an excerpt from the Quran. Would removing this be infringing upon Muslims' rights?

What is with this persecution complex??

In a previous question, someone asked if fooling around before marriage was ok as long as you didn't have sex. I personally have no problem with premarital sex, but for people who believe this, how do you define what is sex and what isn't? I've heard of some Christian girls who believed this who would have anal sex or oral sex and still claim virginity. I've even heard of a girl who got herpes in her armpit because of the belief that premarital sex was wrong.

Muslim women can play any sport they want as long as they do not show past their ankles. They cannot wear things without sleeves either. Do not show you chest or mid section. That's it! I play all sports. I play hard. I follow the religion, but it doesn't stop me from doing anyhting. I play hard in gym, kick hard, hit hard, run hard. I play baseball, softball, basketball, tennis, hockey (all kinds), I run at least 10 hard minutes a day non-stop, no walking, no stoping, I even swim, and do karate. Just follow those rules.

I plan to make donations to charity this coming christmas. So far I've already found the place I can donate food to. But as for old clothing, I can't seem to find any place that accepts them.

Anybody knows where and how I can donate my clothing either to the poor or charity homes? I surfed the Internet for days and can't get a single clue. Please help.

However, I won't get the tickets until the first of April because the game isn't until next year, obviously. I want to give him the tickets for Christmas. Anyone got any ideas on how to "gift-wrap" them? Should I put a map of Wrigley with his seat circled into a box? Something like that?

and since evolution proceeds by the accumulation of many small scale changes,

if there were no barrier to these small changes, you would expect the changes to give an incredible diversity of living organisms (the way the fossil record shows).

So, what barrier to constant change do you propose?

i am a teenage girl. i have depression and social anxiety, and am getting treated, but since then all of my friends have abandoned me, except for my boyfriend of two years. he is my best and only friend left. we are in love and a great relationship. a few months ago ive been confused sexually, whether it be straight, bisexual, or lesbian. ive had sex with my boyfriend and we connected deeply; emotionally and physically. About a while ago ive started think about girls in sexual ways, while also feeling atrracted to my boyfriend. i told my boyfriend and he supported me 100%, he loved me no matter what. i have no problem with any type of sexuality, but at times i only like girls, at times i only like boys, and other times i like both. but the last few times having sex i couldnt orgasm. i dont want to break up with him to explore because he is the only person whos there for me and i am in love with him, which is why im scared i might only like girls. i just dont know. i am so confused

In the Proceedings of the Symposium on Radiocarbon Variations and Absolute Chronology held at Uppsala in 1969, T. Säve-Söderbergh and I. U. Olsson introduce their report with these words:

"C-14 dating was being discussed at a symposium on the prehistory of the Nile Valley. A famous American colleague, Professor Brew, briefly summarized a common attitude among archaeologists towards it, as follows: If a C-14 date supports our theories, we put it in the main text. If it does not entirely contradict them, we put it in a footnote. And if it is completely out of date WE JUST DROP IT. Few archaeologists who have concerned themselves with absolute chronology are innocent of having sometimes applied this method. . ."

Should geologic chronologies be reconsidered? Do young earth agers have a viable claim?
