The only thing I could find were documents all stating in 1984, Christians started praying that the statement would not come true.
" The spectacular demise of Communism took the world by surprise. The ideology that sought to destroy Christianity and promised to parade the USSR's last Christian on television was defeated by Christians who prayed. Open Doors and others called for a seven-year campaign of prayer for the Soviet Union in 1984 with the specific goal of complete religious liberty and Bibles available for all. This was achieved in 1990/91! Praise God!"
If it was said in 1984 logic would dictate that it was Andropov (died in Feb of 84) or Chernenko who made it into 85. If it was a response to a speech made prior to either of them in office, the logical one would be Leonid Brezhnev. He would have lived during a time that TV would have had it's greatest impact.
Television was still relatively new to Stalin and Khrushchev and the impact would not have been felt.
If put on the spot it would be between Andropov, Chernenko, or Brezhnev. And if really put on the spot I would say Brezhnev.
I've been wrong before so I'm not really sure.

AntiCatholics have been announcing the immediate destruction of the Catholic Church for even longer but they are gone and the Catholic Church is still here.
