does God use the foolish things of this world to confound the wise?

In a Western movie ( for example) the bad guy wears a black hat and the good guy's hat is white, ditto the the colors of their horses. This is leading me to other questions about religious garb, but I'll save those for later.

Christians and muslims are dumb because they base their belief on faith, which means, do not question , just follow what is written in the book . The church and mullahs has to say that because otherwise, the Bible or the koran becomes a crock, with many inconsistencies and many things that simply do not make sense.
most of the pastors and mullahs are uneducated and have a IQ level of a adult monkey or a 2 year old child.
So they stay dumb and traditional for another couple of years?

people speak a different language to each other knowing I do not speak that language? At work there are two guys that speak french creole. sometimes while they are talking, they switch back and forth from english to french creole. I don't think they are talking about me or anything. but I do get a little irritated. do you think I am right to be a little aggravated at the situation? I mean, this is america. and I only speak english. I think it is just rude.

In 1Corinthians 14: 34-35, St. Paul says:

"Let women be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but let them be in subjection, just as the Law says. If they want to learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church."

Just wondering if I as the host or even the person who brings the wine, should be expected to open and drink the wine thats in question? Setting aside the obvious doesnt go with the meal part (red/meat, white/fish ext.).

I was talking to my teacher about recipes and food and she suggested pork. I said I do not eat pork, or ham, because it is in the Bible not to. She looked at me strangely and now I know why.. i've read on this site that it is a sin for Jews to eat pork? not Christians? i feel like a hypocrite.

I'm Working on a resource Website to help Americans in times of need. Shelter, Food, Homelessness and ect. I've paid for everything on my own so far. Still working on the website. But I'm in need of Funding to help with the cost to gather the information and get the word out about the site and the help avalible and ect. I just recieved a "chain "in memory" mail" that states that the UK is taking the Holocaust out of the history lessons in school because it offends the Muslim population who believe it never occured. We are supposed to pass it on..

For my part, I think that this is a ENORMOUS overgeneralization and who ever wrote the email is putting the words of Iran's leader, who stated that the Holocaust maybe didn't happen the way we think - or never happened, in the mouths of the whole of the Muslim community world-wide. This is the stuff that makes people hate ignorant Americans.

So....is this true? Is the GENERAL Muslim belief that the Holocaust never happened?

And quite frankly - I am not interested in the opinions people who either A) are not Muslim or B) who are uneducated about the Islamic faith in scholastic way. I have a BA in Religious Studies and don't really want to hear opinions of Christians, Atheists, etc.

I know it is haram..to use birth controls.
But for someone like me who has 4 small children under 8 and works at the same time. It is veryyy hard to take care of the children with school, homework the little ones at home and everything, not to mention trying to raise them islamically and paying the high fees for islamic school.
Our problem is not financially as my husband and I both have good jobs Alhamdullillah but its rasing the kids, thats the hard part.
So we have decided to put it on hold for now...no more kids untill these four lil ones go to school InshaAllaah...for people with similar situations is that a sin?
I have asked an imam on a website and he said it should be fine. Allaah knows best.
what do you guys think?
I cant have the 11 kids my mom had. I'm not as strong as she was plus the environment in which she raised us was totally different and more peacefull.

A friend of mine, a runner, won an award for "fastest 10K race" in his running club. However, after winning the award, he learned that another club member had actually run a better and faster 10K than he did, but the award committee had not seen those race results. My own view is that my friend should alert the award committee, and offer to give the award to the person that ran the faster race. If it were me, I would also make a point of congratulating that person. I'm trying to convince him that he'll look better and be a better person if he does this. What do you think?
