1) God doesn't want surrender, He wants love. (Many fundamentalists want surrender but not for Christian reasons.)

2) If you think you've never seen God, as respectfully as I can, I suggest that you are looking for the wrong things.

It is a wicked and an adulterous generation that seeketh for a sign.
God does not satisfy men's curiosity and make random appearances.
When He appears, and rest assured He has, it is for specific reasons. The Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price all testify of appearances God has made to mankind. Most of the time it is Jesus that makes the appearance but sometimes the Father has also appeared.
Most notably in the Spring of 1820 in a grove outside Palmyra, New York, the Father and the Son appeared simutaneously to a 14 year old boy, Joseph Smith in answer to his sincere prayer to know what church he should join. The unique and specific purpose for this appearance was to initiate the restoration of all things as spoken of in the New Testament.
Since that appearance, the fulness of the Gospel and the priesthood authority to carry out God's work on the earth was restored and is found today in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Please check it out. God loves His children and has provided a way for all to receive His blessings.

God makes an appearance every day. Some can't see it because their noses are buried in science books.

People complain that religions use God to explain the unexplainable, yet the unexplainable still happens every day. Instead of saying "Thank you, God for showing me that you do exist and You do care" people go running to scientists for an explanation. Every day, people are healed to the point that the softball sized tumor they were scheduled to have removed has completely disappeared and left no trace. Doctors scratch their heads, say "oh, well" and move to the next case.

In 3rd world countries, missionaries see the blind given sight and lame men walk after 30 years of paralysis. Maybe America has just lost its faith, or maybe it's putting its faith in the wrong places.

Your right to say surrender, but a loving surrender, like to a good parent.

Why should you breathe air you can't see? Why should sacrifice your selfish desires out of love if you can't see it? Why do you believe R&S users exist and you aren't on the Truman Show?

Answer: Because we experience these as fundamental, existential truths and to teh extent we do not we live a life other than that one for which humans are specifically adapted.

You don't surrender your life to God. You surrender to have faith in him. Or something like that.... And if you believe in god; you go to heaven. It's that simple.

Jesus walked on earth for 33 years. I consider that a pretty good appearance. Anyway why should we tell God what to do, shouldn't it be the other way around?

Because that's how He plays the game...I kind of think of Him as being similar to Jigsaw from the Saw series...controls events from behind the scenes, no qualms with killing, tries to teach you arbitrary life lessons by forcing you to kill others or go through horrible pain, and the only people to ever see him immediately join in as part of his sadistic game. It would be poetic almost if it weren't so disturbing...

What type of god would want me to pledge my fealty to him or her simply for the sake of believing or proving my allegiance? I would expect god is beyond pride and the need for some following.
