One day when I did go to a congregational church, the preacher said something in his sermon that really pissed me off and I gave him a mean look and walked out. I have never went back there again and won't answer the phone when that church calls me.

... one man was looking around helplessly. I joined in to find that 4 very young men were defending the J.W. movement to him and were very angry.
When I was very young I met a young man who got very incited when I tried to explain a theory to him . I yelled and swore at him because he was just being mean and not letting me talk.
I've since met some very nice J.W.'s and enjoyed thier company. I was raised to respect people of all walks.
Query ; Why do people get so riled up over salvation?
I mean If I tell you that I'll pray 4 U , does it make sense to be offended?

My mother believed and went to church every sunday for 70 years when she died in her sleep she was clutching the bible. The reason i ask my question is if she believed so much why did god let her die with nothing, i don't believe in god and i own my own business home and three cars , married to a beatiful woman with two kids going to college in three years and we could not be happier, what is god doing that would make me stop doing what i'm doing and pick up a bible?

To Constantanople and the church moved with it?

The Catholic Chruch broke away from Constantinople and moved back to Rome to establish their own authority?

So than the Eastern Orthodox Church is the original Church.

If this is the case than why so many denominations of Christianity and why don't the baptists, Pentacostal and all Christians join Constantinople?

i see all these arguements and excuses for abortion being 'justified' but when it comes down to it, cant we all tell that its murder? its like when your a kid, and you know somethings wrong, but your selfish so you do it anyway and try to justify yourself with elaborate 'reasonings'. i guess people are ok with it cuz theyre already born and there are laws protecting their lives.

i dont really want arguements, ive had enough, i would like to know what peole think though, so tell me, am i wrong?

malcom x said this in one of speeches, but a friend repeated it to me.

He says there is no way that a black person can learn history and not become angry. This comment was in the context of a discussion about real black history being taught in school (Im not talking about who invented the traffic light).

while I agree with him to some extent, I think the anger is a phase. Afterall, the people to be most angry at are all dead. But he disagrees, he says black people should continue to be angry until status quo is changed.

what say you?

It seems to me (by way of the media, email, internet, etc) that those who believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior, he was born as the son of God and is Risen, are few and far between. I live in the 'Bible Belt' in a large metropolitan city. Here, nearly everyone I know goes to church and claims to be saved. What is the difference between so many of us in this area, and so many others in other parts of the country?

We non-protestant, non-catholics were slaughtered in every age since the 4th Century by those who professed to know Christ.

Even giving the Protestants, Orthodox & Catholics the benefit of the doubt for a moment that they are indeed Christian, then why do they ignore Jesus & Paul?

II Th 3:14-15
14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
(KJV)

So why have we been the enemy? Why have you burnt our forefathers and tortured them?

Even if we were the evil seed, does not our Lord teach us to let Him sort things out?

Matt 13:28-29
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
(KJV)

It can be so confusing to read, but when you ask questions, people here is R&S get offended and go off on the person posting the questions.

They say read the Word, but so much does not make sense.

And for you smart mouths, I am two semesters away from a graduate degree, so do not call me stupid.

Out of all the people you have met in your life, who's achievements most impress you?

For me, my grandmother on my dad's side is one of the most amazing people I have ever come across, the fact she managed to acheive what she did, with the circumstances of her life is just amazing.

Her husband came back from the Korean war hooked on junk and never recovered, Od'ing a few years later, but not before he got 2 of his kids hooked on the stuff as well. There is a famous family story about my grandfather taking my dad out for "heroin and prostitutes" for his 16th birthday.

At 89 she just stopped lecturing on medicine, has traveled the world with Doctors without borders for decades working some of the worst regions of the planet.

That family is a complete disaster, drugs, alcohol, long term jail sentences you name it, yet through all of that she managed to travel the world healing the poor, the sick, the uncared for.

So what about you?

I'm doing a research paper on Homosexuals and Nazi's.... the negative impact of the Nazi's on homosexuals. How it was for homosexuals before hitler, during and after...

Right now, i am going with "Homosexuals are more masculine than Nazi's".... does that sound okay for a 300 level class in a University? If not, what do you recommend? I have my sources (Gad Beck and Pierre Seel's books)....

you and God.? and, if you think that works is what gets us salvation
read
Ephesians 2:8-9
8 By this undeserved kindness, indeed, YOU have been saved through faith; and this not owing to YOU, it is God’s gift. 9 No, it is not owing to works, in order that no man should have ground for boasting.

turning in a time slip/reporting exactly how many hours you preached is not what i think jesus was talking about in this scripture. what do you think?
