Life is not as horrible as it may seem. Try to focus on what you have instead of what you don't have and you will be far happier. I know, I know. It may seem like there is nothing good to be grateful for, so start small. How about fresh drinking water, electricity, food, you health - you get the idea. I try to do this in that cozy time in the morning between sleeping and waking. I think it kind of acts as a self-hypnosis with your brain in that pliable state. I don't know. But I do know that when I do it, I usually have a much better day. Something else to consider - maybe you're putting your birthday on a pedestal that will never meet your expectations. Many people do this with birthdays and other holidays too like New Years Eve, for example. I don't think there are too many real-life events that can live up to a commercialized, idealized version of a holiday. I think it may have something to do with not having a good editor or a good soundtrack in real life. Anyway, I'm guilty of doing this even with people. I wonder how many relationships could have been saved with more realistic expectations. I'm not saying you should settle for a crappy birthday or anything mediocre. If it's not what you want, then think about throwing your own party the way you would. There is that song, "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to." Indeed, it is your birthday, so you are entitled to spend it as you wish. I'm sure that you can think of better things to do than crying or feeling sad. I hope that helps. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Go out in the sun, in the woods, on the street. Take a long, nice walk. Breathe deeply. Breathe well. Enjoy your surroundings. Enjoy people. Do not focus on your self, self, self. You are more special than you think and you have to proclaim that to the world. Search for some project that you can join and put your energy and heart to it. When you are busy doing something, things and your feelings get better! Happy Birthday! Cheer up. Be happy. Be strong. Be brave.

I spent many a depressing birthday just like you. I finally decided not to make such a big deal out of my b-day because then I would be disappointed. Ever since then, it seems magically, people remembered my birthday and called me or sent me cards took me shopping or out to eat. So my advice to you is to do the same. Also Happy Birthday, even though you're feeling down, be happy that you're alive.

The very fact that you have a computer, and are communicating with us on the Answers Community speaks very well of you. Now, you've got to make your life count for something. When was the last time that you did something good for someone that wasn't expecting it, and asked for, and expected nothing in return ? The level of satisfaction that you could get from that would eclipse what you would get from some Material Possession. That would be the best gift of all !

Dam it sounds like my week. I broke my crystal bowl, the handle on my refrig fell off, my tire on my car was flat, I fell down the stairs, dropped my cell phone and broke it! I called to dicountie my cancellation to my home phone number when they disconnected me. I got a huge pimple on my face. My kid has argued with me all day. My best friend is moivng out of state. My car has sprang an oil leak and I'm broke as sin!
So honey I k now how you feel! But don't give up it could be worse! Not that hearing that helps!
But HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETHEART. May God bless you and keep you! May he shower you in his love and allow you peace, joy and happiness. And that by next birthday you will be rejoicing instead of being depressed!

The day replaced into advantageous aside from two issues - Manny's pinch hit homer to triumph over the Giants, and then worsts of all, the Sharks lose in further time whilst our very own participant shot the purpose into our very own internet. Devastating!

that sucks really./
my parents are *** holes on my birthday usually. some times, (last time) they didnt even remember. i just went over to my friends house and chilled. they will realize that it was ur birth day soon enough. maybe in like couple of weeks. you just need to relax. go to bed early. forget about this whole thing. its another day tommorow. they might remember it then. and dont be too hard on every one. life isnt perfect. u have a good day and u have a bad day. you should know that. and its luck weather u get lucky on ur birth day or just simply a normal day. how about going to starbucks? grab a hotchocholate, go home, put on some music, close ur eyes and rest. things will get better. i know some times i get really bad days.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
DONT GET DOWN
ITS STILL A BEAUTIFUL DAY
and probably you are to
just lift yourself up.........
Everyone has felt depressed at sometime or another over something
cant let that stop you from living your life
Dont know your thoughts nor beliefs..but i found praying and reading Gods Word helpful in times of dispair........
Find something you enjoy and take your mind off the bad to something good you like.........
Seriously
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
May God Bless You
