Im glad you have the capability to think for yourself and not swallow everything a preacher says or does. There would be a lot less cults in this world if there were more people like you.

If what he said was wrong, then I have no problem with it. If what he said made you mad because it was true about you and is biblically accurate, then you should go back and listen more!
I left a church after I asked the pastor a question that he refused to answer, even avoided me to keep from having to answer it. For about two years, he avoided me in community settings as well (very small town). He ended up leaving the ministry and town last year. Never trust a pastor that works full time as a financial advisor.

It happens. A quick story:
A buddy of mine was in Vietnam in 68. It was right after Tet, and he was in the thick of it (in Hue). He came right off the front lines and one of the first things he did was to go a church to connect with God and find some comfort.
All the preacher did was condemn him and his fellow soldiers for the entire sermon. Finally, he got up and left, and most of the people left with him. He never went back to church, and he is one of the more spiritual people I know (a true religious scholar).
His reasoning - "Church interferes with my relationship with God."

Well it depends on whether or not you got pissed because he said the truth, or if it was because he was dictatating his own personal thoughts. There are always things that people won't find agreeable because they don't want to give them up, but it is the sin against your own conscience that matters, and the sins that hurt another spiritually that are the worst. Those sins are unforgivable according to God. ;-)

Since you didn't tell us what the preacher said. Who know if you had a right to walk out. You should talk to the preacher and tell him what was wrong. If it was about the scripture you should have to Bible ready to tell him he was wrong.

Mr 8:38
If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels."
John 5:37
I have testimony weightier than that of John. For the very work that the Father has given me to finish, and which I am doing, testifies that the Father has sent me.
37And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard his voice nor seen his form,
38nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent.
39You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me,

Pretty good. I was in a church three years ago and the pastor got in front of the church, held up the bible, and said, "This is the word of God. Infallible, never changing, and perfect." My wife got embarrassed because I laughed so hard that they could have heard me across the street.

I don't go to church. I don't listen to preachers unless I am bored and need a laugh.

I'd say the Holy Spirit convicted you, and your mind was offended- which caused you to walk out- and is still and unresolved issue.
Most of the time, our minds have to get offended to reveal what is really in our heart.
God Bless you!

your just exercising your rights ...
maybe you should answer their calls; by that you can tell them why you were pissed off, and probably hear their entire explanation, you said you walked out
