you and God.? and, if you think that works is what gets us salvation
read
Ephesians 2:8-9
8 By this undeserved kindness, indeed, YOU have been saved through faith; and this not owing to YOU, it is God’s gift. 9 No, it is not owing to works, in order that no man should have ground for boasting.

turning in a time slip/reporting exactly how many hours you preached is not what i think jesus was talking about in this scripture. what do you think?

I always wonder how any person who has read the Bible can really believe that a god exists. Just reading the Bible, itself, should be enough to convince any rational person that it is just old superstition.

You rabbit trailed, but I hope I am following you.

1. You are right. The Bible teaches that we are now all Priests in Jesus Christ. He is the only mediator between God & Men. We now have freedom to come boldly to the Throne of Grace in Prayer anytime anywhere.

The concept of a church, pope, organization or whomever creating a new barrier between God & man is not found in the New Testament anywhere.

2. Here is another good one about faith & not works:

Rom 9:30-32
30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.
31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law....

Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

James 2:17

For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

Matthew 16:27

you must have left something out of your question because I don't believe that a church can save anyone, only grace, through faith can save. The Church is usually a body of believers who gather for fellowship and worship and I am sure the New Testament calls for the gathering of the saints for this purpose.

Read Hebrews.

And we become like someone unclean, all of us, and all our acts of righteousness are like a garment for periods of menstruation; and we shall fade away like leafage, all of us, and our errors themselves will carry us away just like a wind. Is. 64:6 (NWT)

Owing to no works in righteousness that we had performed, but according to his mercy he saved us through the bath that brought us to life and through the making of us new by holy spirit. Titus 3:5 (NWT)

Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. 1 Tim. 2:4-7 (NKJV)

The REAL church is NOT a "man made organization."

Matthew 16:17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah! No mere man showed this to you. My Father in heaven showed it to you. 18 Here is what I tell you. You are Peter. On this rock I will build my church. The gates of hell will not be strong enough to destroy it.

Ephesians 1:3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ... 7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins... 23 And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.
