Erastus is the name of one of Paul's friends. According to Romans 16:23, Erastus was city treasurer of Corinth (New King James Version translation).

As for your second question, read Acts 27 and 28. The shipwreck happened after a violent storm in the Mediterranean Sea, sometime in our month of November according to Dr. A. T. Robertson. This was a bad time to be sailing and the sailors and all on board found that out the hard way. The ship ran aground on the island of Malta. Paul made it to Rome but was under house arrest for a couple of years. Apparently he was released but re-arrested, jailed, and finally executed some years after the book of Acts was finished. The crime was preaching Jesus as the only way to Heaven. Some have pointed out, on a very similar question in this forum, that the Romans would let you worship anybody or anything that you pleased so long as you also worshipped Caesar as the supreme being. Paul and other Christians would not, and did not, so they paid with their lives.
