I was wondering if nurse nuns are still around?

Yes, many orders still have sisters working as nurses. The Benedictines, for one.

And there are young nuns. This past summer, I attended the ceremony in which one lovely young lady made her final profession of vows. She's 26. She's not the youngest at her convent and there are quite a few right around her age.

Yes, there are orders that do nursing. The Little Sisters of the Poor, for one. There aren't many of them left. They are a pretty strict order & they have had to close many of their homes. I worked for them in Milwaukee until they left about 12 years ago. They are also Fransiscan nuns in nursing.

Yes they are. Every one (like 3) I have met has been quite old though. I don't think there is such a thing as a young nun. I have yet to meet one in person, but I have heard tales of their existence. lol
