If you know someone who is abusing the welfare system and claiming to be a Christian, would you feel obligated to report them to the authorities?

It's been rumored that this person, whose husband WILL NOT work and is living with her and the children on section-8 is using falsified info to obtain benefits. The husband is young and healthy and just plain refuses to work, even when he has been helped to secure employment. There are 5 children involved and it would greatly impact there lives.
What is a Christians obligation in a matter like this?
Thanks for all serious answers.....as lives are hanging in the balance.

I recently made a new friend that I see often around campus. He began squeezing or patting me on the shoulder and I explained my aversion to touch.

He became offended and told me he didn't "mean anything by it".

I explained that while I understand that, I still don't like to be touched.

Today he came up behind me in the library and wrapped me in a hug.

What can I say/do to make him STOP?!

I just asked this question to everyone but it mainly seems to be Christians answering it so now I"m narrowing it down.

I've never had romantic feelings for a CHristian before, I always assumed it just wouldn't work out. Now I do have those types of feelings, but am still not sure if it could work in the end. What do you think?

As close as you can get it to the true meaning would be great!

No law can be sacred to me but that of my nature. Good and bad are but names very readily transferable to that or this; the only right is what is after my constitution, the only wrong what is against it. A man is to carry himself in the presence of all opposition, as if every thing were titular and ephemeral but he. I am ashamed to think how easily we capitulate to badges and names, to large societies and dead institutions.

"Well wait till I am in heaven and you will be sorry"

or

"Well we will be gone to heaven and all of you will be suffering on earth"

or

"Well, it's your choice. If you want to go to hell, I can't stop you."

What does that communicate to you exactly?

If I say to a Christian, (I wouldn't actually make such a threat to anyone. So this is hypothetical only)

"Well when you reincarnate or transcend into a miserable existence to learn the lessons you failed to learn in this lifetime, you will be sorry."

I doubt it really would mean ANYTHING to the Christian since they think my beliefs are not true. So if I was trying to hurt them or threaten them, I would be wasting my time (not that I would do such a thing).

So why do they think it is any different with non-Christians being threatened with hell?

Do they say things like that because they think we secretly believe it is actually true?

What exactly is the purpose of such statements?

what exactly is the problem with it? personally, I see none. well, unless they drown the baby in the water, then that's another story. but I see no harm done during the baptism of infants, so I really don't understand why so many people are against it.

I am in charge of planning our office party for this season. My boss wants to invite spouses/significant others to join us, however he's not a fan of one of our used to be part-time husbands (she no longer works for the company, but left on great terms and still comes in to help once in a while). So he's can't decide what to do.

I think it should be spouses and what not, but I know that my boss really doesn't not get along with this guy. What can I do that won't cause a fight or make everyone uncomfortable?

Focus on that brick over there in the corner....it sure looks real, it feels real, my senses say it's real....it must be real!

Focus on God....I can't see it, I don't feel it, and my senses do not sense it.....it must be a fraud.

Okay, that sounds about right.

From an atheist's point of view (at least to my understanding) Science proves everything. It explains what we are, what we aren't, what a brick is, and what God isn't.

My question is, did I get this right? Is this how atheism works? Because if it is, I already see some major flaws. If you people hold belief in science to a great extent (like most atheists claim) then I am sorry for you. Science is inconsistant. Nonetheless, it changes all the time. Science today was way different than science 500 years ago. Science in the future will be way different than science today.

Putting belief in science is ridicuolous. According to science, bumblebees can't fly, but I guess science is worth believing in anyways.

I'd like to think it would. But really when it comes down to it we both think the other person is wrong. It seems like inevitablly the Christian would think the other person is wrong and going to hell or facing some other eternal punishment/seperation and the atheist would think the other person is wrong and therefore somehow intellectually inferior. What do you make of all this?

What about Oklahoma's tough new illegal immigration law?
What's your opinion of Oklahoma's tough new law regarding illegal immigration? Personally I think it's a great law and it was way past time for the USA to get serious in dealing with illegal immigrants.

Or can this be attributed to the person and their narrowmindedness? Sexual abuse of children, hatred of the gay and lesbian community. Which quite frankly I think some of the most attractive, funny, intelligent men are gay. I think these people miss the whole poiint of spirituality

If aliens are real. What do you think they would be like realistically?

Would they be the crazy "WAR OF THE WORLDS" kind of aliens. Or would they kinder and gentler, curious creators?

What do you think they would really be like?
