Well...being a former Christian I can tell you that the Bible says this is the way it should be. So don't complain. It makes you more "Christlike" to be "persecuted", even in a small way, for your faith.
From my former Christian perspective, I can tell you that Christians get picked on because they believe a very judgmental and destructive set of beliefs. They push their faith on others and call it evangelization. And they pity people who think with their brains instead of their irrational emotions. Generally, Christians are wolves in sheeps' clothing (Bible quote). They come at you with love and sunshine and invitation. And they attack you with a close-minded, fear-based religion. And when you reject their invitation, they threaten you with hell.
You tell me why Christians get picked on...

There are several reasons. Firstly is that, truth be told, we've done a lot of picking on people. The Middle Ages was not a good time for us. Though Christianity did help perserve civilization there were many times where we did not act kindly to our non-Christian brothers and sisters. And in fact in got quite brutal. Also we are currently the biggest. Counting all Christians, Catholics included (I know some people don't) there are more people that believe in Christ than any other religion. McDonalds, the biggest fast food chain, had "Supersize Me" a scathing documentary about the menu and the supersize option. McDonalds changed and began to offer more healthy options. On the other hand Burger King introduced the Double Omlet sandwich about the same time. It had enough calories in it for the average family's breakfast needs. Because they were not the biggest there was little focus on them. Every Christian that messes up, every car that has the "I love Jesus" bumper sticker on it that cuts someone off, every Catholic priest that abuses children is more closely looked at and picked on than an average person. Get used to it, at least they aren't feeding us to the lions anymore.

I don't think that it's picking. A lot of Christians are very vocal and opinionated and when you are very outspoken with your beliefs, you will be questioned and challenged. I don't think that any other religious group, at least in the U.S., is a vocal as Christians. Because of this, people are very vocal in return.
And are you serious with the "omG! I swear"?

Reading the answers to this question... has made me really nauseous. I really... REALLY don't like the Y!A community sometimes. Some of the most hateful and judgmental people I've ever seen are the ones in here calling Christians judgmental and hateful. Aren't you the same people who call US hypocrites?
I truly am sick of this!
While I've met many atheists (and non-Christians) who seemed like very good people and were respectful of other peoples' beliefs, the majority of atheists and non-believers on Y!A talk to Christians in an extremely condescending way. You think you're so much better than us... and you talk to us like we're little kids. GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE!!!
I understand that SOME Christians are self-righteous... guess what? They annoy me too! ...and some non-believers are self-righteous, too... in fact, they're downright rude.
So it's not necessarily about Christian or non-Christian, is it? What about that tolerance I hear you preaching about so much?!

Well, think about this one. We are on a website that requires us to write in English. All English speaking nations that I know of are overwhelmingly Christian. Those who are most comfortable writing in English have mostly grown up around Christianity.
Christianity is not only the most popular religion in the world, it is the religion OF the most powerful. We live in democratic countries where it is important that the people make informed decisions. And we know that what people do affects us all.
Christians try to pass laws that affect us all - such as eliminating abortion; or having their religion enshrined in our documents, and buildings; restricting the rights of gays; and trying to put religion in our schools.
Look also at President Bush... the man said he was told by God to invade Iraq. Apocalyptic Christians may be all to happy for the next nuclear war to come along (do we really want them in charge of our weapons?).
The truth is, Christians affect us the most so it is them we wish to educate.
If you wish to know more about the damage that religion causes, I suggest you read "The End of Faith," and "Letter to a Christian Nation" by Sam Harris as well as "God is not Great: How Religion Poisions Everything" by Christopher Hitchens.

Okay, people like you are the type that say dumb things like "white people are being discriminated against" just because you don't get your own way. You are NOT being discriminated against, you're just being denied the right to pervert our constitution by forcing your beliefs on everybody else. Who is stoping you from practicing your faith? Nobody. Are you being tortuned for being Christian? No. Are you being killed for being a Christian? Unlike thousands of Jews, Muslims, Gays, African-Americans, NO. You're just angry that you can no longer act superior to everybody with your head up your butt and get whatever you want. You should be saying something more like "Oh No! We're now being treated as equals to everybody else!" then you'd be closer to the truth.

When Christians stop trying to shove their religious dogma down my throat I will stop picking on them. Until then it's on. Before complaining you need to think about what you can do do solve the problem. Blessed Be and Have a Nice Day!

Because most Christians, no offense to the nice ones, are self-righteous, hippocratical bigots. I don't need to be prayed for or told how to be saved. Live your life how you want and stay the frick out of mine (trying not to swear lol). I acknowledge that not all Xtians are like this, but most I know are.

If they would respect everyone else different from them, stop being hypocrites, and stop trying to force their religion on people...they might be ok. Atheists don't try and get everyone to believe there is no God, so why do Christians think they have to convert everyone?

I don't pick on actual Christians...just the obnoxious ones that think they're better than everyone else, which btw, is not a very Christian attitude.
