I agree with Dani. It depends on the person. I'm a Christian and I don't hate the gay/lesbian community. Why? Because I hate it when I hear fellow believers go crazy because I was hanging out with "that bad person", or whatever. Gay people are human too, they aren't to be shunned or looked down upon. I treat them like I would any other person I come across.

Sexual abuse of children? what does that have to do with Christianity? you will not find anywhere where Christ taught such a thing. and you might try looking up the meanings of the words hatred and bigotry. Someone can disagree with something and not be either filed with hate or bigotry. Five bucks says you are pro abortion? and you want to talk about child abuse? five bucks also says you dislike the soldiers fighting for you, now in Iraq, you want to talk about bigotry now?

The people might be full of hatred and bigotry. But just because the people stink doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the soap. Most Christians have never embraced their Hebrew roots, if they did they would be able to put the New Testament in context. As for you and I, my Rabbi Yeshua (Jesus) makes me Kosher. Who makes you Kosher? Selah.

I think you need to make a clear distinction between what Christianity teaches and how believers behave. The fundamentals of Christianity are to love God and love others. It's really that simple. However, human beings are weak and sinful and because of that they falter in their journey with Christ. There are sincere Christians who know they are sinners and strive to live holy lives. Then there are the mean spirited, judgemental, self-righteous, sanctimonious lot who go through the world like an angry cobra spitting poison at others. They are a sad and despicable lot and they bring dishonour and disrepute upon the faith. I am not ashamed to be a Christian, but I am often ashamed at the vile behaviour of others who claim to follow Christ but do the exact opposite of what he commanded us to do.

What about me? I am a Bisexual Christian, and I am not against the Gay community. I say, " Let them do what they do, preach Christ." And that's what I am telling you. All Christians do not get into petty arguments with people who do not believe. But I also say to the Gay people, " Become saved through Jesus Christ, trust Him and you will not only be saved, but it will make the Fundies even more angry."
I know you weren't saying that we ALL were that way, but there are some of us who really love the truth. Part of that trust is that I am just as bad a sinner as anyone. And if God can save me, He can save you!

I don't hate. I love. I would say that it has to do with the person, not with their religious faith. I personally think that gay and lesbian people are sinners that are in need of a change of lifestyle. I do not think they are worse than other people. I just think that there are a lot of lost people out there and I would gladly share the gospel if they are interested but I'm not going to push my beliefs on them.

True many xtians do that, but it's wrong. In fact Jesus loved "sinners" (the main reason for his death). A true xtian would show them how wrong the sin is in the eyes of God and urge them to repent. Unfortunately, the world today isn't so different from the world in Jesus time (ie: Hang with gay, Be gay). No wonder many say Jesus married Mary Magdalene.

It isn't. It's your own limited view of Christianity. After all, basing opinions on the most vocal non-Christians I've seen, I could claim that lack of Christianity is full of hatred and bigotry with equal validity.
