You are killing more of each other every day over your quarrels over religion than all other things put together, because you cannot even come to an agreement about what you think God says, or wants for you. On one side of the world God wants something different than the other. On one side of the room, in one side of your mind, God wants something different than on the other. The power is within you. You are extensions of this powerful Source Energy. You are literally God expressing in this physical body. And so, as you are standing in a thought, or in a word, or in an action that feels good to you as you are standing there--then you are fully open and allowing all of that Divine Energy to flow through you. And in that moment you are all that you said you would be when you decided to come forth into this body. You are the extension of pure positive energy. You are in your full creative power. You are thriving. You are clear-minded. You are joyful. You are filled with love. You are who

The one thing that floats my boat is when someone will blatantly say something rude to someone, and then deny that they even said it. Worst yet they try to sharpen the blow, by making the insult seem less offensive. The "I was only joking" defense is often used. Why joke like that anyway? If you say it own up to it. Plus, I have noticed on Y!A that people will claim to be a nice person, yet when you check their profile this is not the case. Don't they assume that others will check. There always seems to be some poor excuse for poor behavior; or some reason to justify it or trivialize it. Everyone seems to be perfect in their own reality.

I ma deeply saddened by the actions of these gundas, particularly so because they purportedly belong to Hindu family.
I would like all the right minded people of all religion to join me in condemning such acts. I hope the authority take stern action against these gundas and their party.

There must be at least 100 different versions of the Bible and some are quite different from others. The one that is most often quoted by those who believe it is literal is the King James Version. What evidence is there that the KJV ,alone, was truly inspired or written by God?

Yes. Supporting violence turns on itself. How do you know that you are not next? In Iraq, some people who were initially supporting violence tried to back out. Al-Qaeda killed them. Supporting violence only ensures that it will end up in your own back yard.

I have done some googling and still have a few questions left about ecclesiastes. Please just post the link, and not copy and paste the whole web page - I don't mind how I get the information as long as I get it:

Why was ecclesiastes written?

What is the book about (I have begun to answer this question, but need more info)

What well known passages does it contain?

Is it important to the modern world?

Is there anything else it would be helpful to know about the book?

Thanks alot in advanced, - You don't have to answer all of the questions.

I sometimes see the argument here that homosexuality is 'unnatural' and as 'proof' it is argued that homosexuality is not observed in other animals (never mind that it actually is).

But by that definition, theism is also 'unnatural' since it is not observed in other animals. Does that mean theists should not be allowed to marry?

Hello, I am a PhD student with a learning disability. I am a social worker and need some input for a application project at school. My hope is that the project will also be helpful and maybe a new agency to help others like myself. I created Learning Differently Network Support (www.ldns.org) I beleive it is time to expand and offer services. So I created this: http://www.ldns.org/lsa.htm
If you like it or do not like it, would love to know why and what is additionally needed in order to help others. Thanks! Anita

As a single father with 2 kids, I find it hard to think of gifts for my sister in law at Christmas time. I plan on giving pictures as gifts to all of my family, but what are good gifts?

If you are a sister in law, what would you want?

I've been chatting with a girl about 3 months. We started talking about normal things. But we got to know eachother better and we talked about intimate things. She started talking in a flirty way (she's has a gf),so I did the same. At 1 point the conversation got all hot and heavy but we stopped at the right time. I know she loves her gf very much, I've told her that if we would talking like that she would get mad at me! A while later we talked the same again, the next day I turned on MSN and she blocked me, I called her and she told me that I wanted more! SHE always is the 1 who starts talking like that, I was just copying her behaviour, were talking again but it isn't the same. Does she like me? Sometimes she's really nice but when her gf is there she sounds like a total b...I REALLY like her as a FRIEND (nothing more) but I'm terrified I'll lose her or I'll say something wrong. I'm afraight to contact her on MSN and wait till she starts talking to me.What should I do?

What do you make of the letter from Pliny the Younger, governor of Pontus / Bithynia (111 - 113 AD) to the Roman emperor Trajan, which states that the Christians "...sing responsively a hymn to Christ as to a god" ?

http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/source/pliny1.html

According to this unbiased, SECULAR source, Christians WORSHIPPED Christ in song, long before the time of Constantine and the alleged corruption of the professing church through him.

This secular observation of believers singing hymns to Christ would seem to underline the teaching of scriptures such as John 5:22 - 23 & Revelation 5:13 - 14, which show that Christ SHARES the worship of the church with the Father.

Your comments, please ?

Thanks in advance for all sincere, polite replies.

My opinion:
I don't mind if he/she is a rock guitar player, or one who is not wearing Hijab, or a professional European footballer who wears shorts, or one who does not grow beard, or one who has different view on Quranic interpretations or has totally different life styles, as long as...

1. As long as he/she does not betray/slander other Muslims.
2. As long as he/she does not give support to other religions to go against Islam.
3. As long as he/she give full support in terms of financial or effort, or atleast zakat & fitrah to the funds for the development of ummah & Islam.

What ever he thinks & practice, or levels of iman he might have, that's his own personal relations/things with God.. as He is the only one to judge a person.

People usually say the Devil made me do it. But specifically if you are a believer exactly what methods does Satan use to tempt someone, or make them stray?

I've coined the word "super atheist" to refer to someone that not only believes that "God does not exist" (now) but also believes that God could never have existed or never will exist because one or more definitions of God (all powerful, all good, etc) leads to a paradox - the existence of God is therefore logically impossible.

Consider another famous paradox to illustrate my point... it's called the Ship's Barber Paradox:

On a ship, there's a barber who follows the following rule (definition) regarding haircuts "The ship's barber cuts the hair of everyone on the ship that does not cut his own hair". This definition seems reasonable, until you ask yourself the following question, "Who cuts the ship's barber's hair?" If he doesn't cut his own hair then the barber cuts his hair. But if the barber cuts his own hair then he doesn't cut his hair. This is a paradox that proves that a ship's barber CAN NOT exist (given the original definition).

The same is true of God.
