There must be at least 100 different versions of the Bible and some are quite different from others. The one that is most often quoted by those who believe it is literal is the King James Version. What evidence is there that the KJV ,alone, was truly inspired or written by God?

It's the "literal" that everyone fights about!

For most Christians, the Bible is NOT the literal word of God. For Muslims, the Qu'ran is the literal word of God.

The Bible was written by different people over a long period of time.

As far as the KJV only people, before the KJV of the Bible was written, there were several poorly done manuscripts that had nothing to do with what was in Scripture. There were some good ones. Not all were based off the same texts either.

The Textus Receptus, which is a collection of Greek Texts, was published in 1516. This was what Martin Luther used to translate the Bible into German and what the King James translators used to translate the Bible into English. From that, the King James version is a fantastic translation. BUT....

Things change over time. And the tendancy towards Scripture Scholarship today centers a lot around trying to work with the older manuscripts (the older would be closer to the original) OR working through the scripts and seeing translating those that have the majority of similarities (the these things seem in line - the more correct they probably were to the original). Few groups subscribe to using the Textus Receptus, but the King James Only movement does.

So...that's why they say the KJV is the most accurate. It's because it just well might be based off the source of manuscripts that were used.

I have been exposed to the Bible written in many different languages. English is not the best one for it, of any version. It is however adequate. And the version that I have been exposed to in English are all adequate, even The Message - which to me is a mess.

The King James Version, one of my favorites, is a good one. I love it, but it by no means is perfect, and in some places purposefully altered - corrupted, and I can prove it.

Since I know about that, I know how to change it back to what it is supposed to say, especially since Jesus was typically quoting from the Septuagint.

Such an error in the KJV I can correct by using the KJV. So I am not persuaded that it is 'literal', but it is 'inspired'.

There is no perfect English version - my apologies to the 'KJV only' people, but I could show any of them why.

What any of he versions I have seen may do is bring enough of the inspired word of God to people who are seeking God through being inspired. And God does the inspiring.

So do not judge English versions of the Bible too harshly, that would lead you into complete error. God is able to make things happen through His Spirit, which is something that people who don't believe cannot understand.

The King James is the closest Bible translation available to the true ancient scripts.
For instance the King James book of Isaiah closely, actually very closely, resembles the Isaiah Scroll found at Qumran.
Also the newer version have at least 300 verses that have been changes, some deleted.

in the beginning, the bible replaced into divinely inspired. This factor won't be able to be prevalent by employing somebody who isn't Christian or Jewish (for the OT), so there is not any factor in arguing this. Secondly, as we've unique documentation in Hebrew and Greek, in case you do no longer elect to take the present variations of the bible accurately, make an effort to learn the unique. you will discover that exterior of a few small variations wherein ability, the final message of the bible has remained consistent. it relatively is generally argued, yet am i able to ask heavily while the final time you probably did a comparitive learn from Greek to the NASB or NIV or greater valuable enable youthful's literal translation. it relatively is in contrast to we are enjoying "telephone" with the bible. we don't translate to a minimum of one version and then use that version to get to the subsequent version. I agree that particular sects have chosen to alter substantial greek/hebrew words to in fantastic condition their sect. The watchtower has finished that severely. Minor variations, yet important contextual variations. ultimately, we don't be responsive to for a certainty that the Catholic Church rewrote areas of the bible - and regardless of if we did, we can nonetheless pass back to the unique manuscripts. As in keeping with the books of the Apocrypha, while the books of the bible have been being assembled the call technique required first hand understanding or prompt understanding of somebody who were with Jesus Christ. The books of the Apocrypha have been written a hundred and fifty-2 hundred years after the death and resurrection of Christ. They tutor little or no historic information or maybe further, stand out as blantant lies that don't slot in with the the remainder of the historic accuracy of the bible. Do i've got self belief there are some small errors interior the bible led to by employing adult adult males - particular. Do i've got self belief that some adult adult males have chosen to make variations to the bible to allow to alter their motives - particular. Do i've got self belief that the bible replaced into inspired of God - maximum extremely - and that i will study the oldest texts on my own to tutor that what i'm analyzing immediately is because it replaced into recorded 2000+ years in the past.

Salam

27 Spiderman pulled them all up and made you al list and posted it over 2000x for you... if you missed it look back and do a search we will begin to post it agian since so many people are ignorant to such.

The best version I ever seen is when you put them all together and then compair them to Al Quran, that is the best! Try it you will see there is words in there that are from The Lord but more than often you will put the bibles down and realize how much they messed with them.

To tell you the real parts over the non real parts is easy, the non real parts don't make sense they never do and they contradict things completely. Constintine was nice to you huh? NOT!

The Word of God is spiritual not a collection of books. Some writers of the Bible were inspired by God but I don't think the "words" that are of God has to be discerned literally all the way. That is why there is a need for inspired readers too. In my opinion, of course.

NO any such evedence for any version of Bible ,

Bible got 73 versions "with text differences" and 100s of contradictions and un scientific quotations ,

And above all we see "Book of Jesus" no where in the Bible ,

Then to whom all that "book of books" was reveled ,

No doubt Jesus is an honorable prophet of God ,

But Christians are religious Orphans They lost their prophet , they lost their Book.

He knows that belief is not a voluntary thing;

So If God wants a person to believe in a principle, He should make it clear and evident. He is the Most Fair and Just ,

A person is not able to believe or disbelieve anything he chooses. The human body is at one's command but not the mind. I can obey a command that tells me to move my hand up or down, to walk or sit, even if such a command does not seem to be wise. But I am not able to obey a command, for example, that tells me to believe that two and two are five, or that three are one, or that fire is cold, or that snow is hot.

Our human knowledge comes from direct or indirect evidence, and it does not follow our own whim and will. An acceptable religious belief must be based on knowledge. When God wants me to know something, He should make such a knowledge possible by making its evidence available. Should He demand from me to believe something while evidence is standing against it, He would be asking me to do the impossible. This contradicts His justice.

Following a principle against evidence, or with lack of evidence, is like a judgement of a court against a defendant without any evidence. Such an attitude is not to be praised.

Yes, it is the inspired word of God. As to which version, use several. That is because translation from one language to another, in different times, definition and meanings change. A phrase in one language does not translate correctly into another language. For instance, English to Spanish, the words in a sentence are scrambled into a different order as well as different words.

English has one word for love. Greek has four, each meaning something different. Which was the writer trying to say in Greek when it is lumped together in English? In English of England of 1610, a "shambles" has quite a different meaning than English of today. One is a mess, the other is a meat market.

Using several translations help us today to get the accurate sense of what the original men, working as secretaries to God, meant.

We further know the bible to be God's Word by the unity it shows in overall theme of making God's name and personality known and its support of itself by one section backing up the meaning of another without contradiction despite 1,500+ years of writing with 39 separate writers.

It is translated from the original scriptures. The New Living translation is written in plain modern English and the easiest to understand. Men wrote the bible, every word inspired by God.

The Bible contains the Word of God. Some is literal, some symbolism. It takes a lifetime of study to fully learn which is which. Get yourself a version you feel comfortable reading. I suggest you also get a bible dictionary and a bible commentary to help you study.
