-thing that will plug into a light socket and then allow me to run X-mas lights from that? How much are they if there is such a thing?

Lowe's has the light sockets that screw in and are used for two plug services. Look for them in the holiday display near the power cords and such.

Saw these on Friday.

Yep, we do the light bulb/plug thing every year. Bought it at walmart for a few bucks. It's pretty cool too because you simply run your Christmas lights by the switch for your outside light!

They used to make an adapter that screwed in like a light bulb and then it had a plug in. Dont know if they still make them but they were at the hardware store and were pretty inexpensive.

Yes, a screw in adapter, sold in many stores, hardware, Walgreens, Walmart, etc. And they are cheap. We used to use them all the time until I had electrical outlets put outside.

yes they have cordless ones at home depot but you have too charge it first like 4 two days..

they do have battery powered lights, but they're not very long & probably won't last long

you can use your nieghbor's if it's ok with them, pay them some money if lights cost anything to run.
