Consider it an intervention, stopping the folks from answering (or asking) again.

Just a note:
Question was posed due to the inundation of really stupid answers today.
I have reported a few people, not for ignorance but for phishing, giving the same answer to multiple questions throughout the site, or ugly comments directed at members of the community with whom they did not agree.

I think your question is stupid. should i report it? Maybe you should step down from your pedestol and realize what you feel is "stupid" someone else may not.

you can report anything you wish..but it's up the moderators to do anything. I see a lot of homework questions that I think are stupid...hello..internet...I also see stupid polls and sometimes stupid questions and answers but like anything else I take it with a grain of salt. The world is full of stupid people...smart ones too..we just ignore the ignorant ones

Stupid questions are rife on this site. Its hard to believe and accept the level of ignorance displayed here. I get so irritated at times that I have to go and do something else to relieve my stress and the embarrassment I feel for those who are so stupid and unable to write using proper English skills.

The problem is we don't have an agreed upon basis on what is stupid or not. Besides, it would appear stupid to some if one starts making judgements of ideas he has not fully explored. And that happens here everytime.

Oh so you're the one reporting everyone. Well you see that little button with the thumbs up or down? Use that instead. People who report others for the least little thing are annoying.

No, it has to be specific, read the guidelines. Your opinion of stupid may not be the opinion of others.
I report for foul and/or hate filled and insulting.

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately, depending on your point of view), stupidity is not a violation of Yahoo! Community Guidelines.
If it were, there would be about three people allowed to contribute to these boards (and I'm probably not among them).

Oh, I wish we could! The stupid ones are so inane!
So what, if there'd only be a handful of people left? That handful could have interesting and intelligent conversations.

Whose definition of 'stupid' would you use? Yours? What some would define as stupid, another would find humorous or even an interesting opinion.

I have never seen much rhyme or reason to the removal of questions..BUT I think stupid and insulting seem to be protected above all else.
