It’s obvious that fervently religious people are intellectually lazy (at best) or stupid for not bothering to question the dogma they’ve been fed since birth, but are fervent atheists foolish as well? By using as evidence the fact that *some* things attributed to God can be disproven by science, they conclude that God must not exist. Isn’t that just as irresponsible?

I know you can't speak for god, but does the Bible say anything about, "Thou who shall be undecided has commited an abomination, and will surely burn in the lake of fire for eternity"?

Are agnostics, who claim to not know whether god exists or not, just as bad as atheists, who don't believe in god at all? Or are they all the same in your eyes (i.e. you're either a Christian, or you're against god. There are no in-betweens)?

You know the crazies come out tonight. I'm not sure whether to batten down the hatches against a Dragon attack or to look toward the Dragons for protection. What wooly boogered beasties might we encounter this fine October evening?
Drunken Hillibillies? Drunken Scots? Drunken Aussies? Aha Drunken Seniors?
Bloodthirsty hounds? Feral cats? Vampires?
It's hard to prepare when you don't what you'll be up against.
All suggestions welcome. I'm Getting in a tizzy just thinking about what the midnight hour is going to bring.

People who don’t believe in a god always have a hard time labeling themselves. Atheist doesn’t cut it for everyone. There’s also Humanist and Freethinker and Secularist and Non-theist and on and on…
Several years ago, Paul Geisert and Mynga Futrell came up with an umbrella term for all those people: Brights.

The Bible says "spare the rod, spoil the child" which most people interpret as encouraging spanking as a discipline. My question is, how do you as Christians decide when the spanking has gone too far?

This is based on a situation happening with extended family members of mine who are Christians. I am Pagan and I am trying to understand.

you or someone else asks a question and the people who reply go on and on about their pet issues which have nothing to do with the question? As an example, someone asked about reincarnation past life experiences, and someone gave a diatribe about the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Do you think these people are illiterate, stupid, or obnoxious?

Who or what created this whole big bang to start with, I know the people who are athiest and scientologist argue this all of the time, but I have never heard any real answers. Do they have one? My theory on this is as follows. Sure the World was created by a big bang, heck how do you think God created the heavens and the earth? Something had to move and collide together for that to start. Where is your proof that someone or something other than GOD created the big bang theory, and it sure wasn't Tom Cruise or John Travolta....hahaha.

with rock/rap stars promoting so many bad things, how can America survive?

Now dont get me wrong, I didn't think much of the people who ranted rock will kill our country, or rap is promoting this and that. But now with all the research and number crunching i've been exposed to, its impossible not to agree.

If you look at the impact, we went from idolizing people that landed on the moon in the 50-60's.. before that world war veterans, etc.
now most kids idolize a rap, rock, atheletic super star..
not such a big deal right? WRONG..

America has been on a decline for sometime.. we produce less scientist, and engineers than nations we use to out produce easily...some of which are FAR SMALLER than America, land mass, and even population. Plain and simple, being smart in an American school is looked as a bad thing, the rebel kid who is not trying to learn or apply himself is considered cool. Yet he will be the janitor in a few years.. it seems sad to me..

whats your thoughts?

It doesn't happen to me now, but it used to. I mean I know its a good thing to look nice, but you can look nice with out expensive designer brands. Why should the clothes you wear bring you down on the social list? What is the world comming to when you see a 4 year old making fun of another 4 year old becuase she got her outfit from libby loo and the other one got her outfit at walmart? I really bugs me, and no matter what you say or do, you can't stop snotty, selfish, bratty people who just want to be a bit*h becuase they can. Any one agree?

Do you hold hands while saying grace as a family or do you keep your hands to yourself. In our family we hold hands.

Side quesiton: In public do you ever strive to finish grace before the server comes back with a side of ranch or something and they beat you to it and stand at the table and quietly wait? Any severs on here run into that themselves?

This is not intended to be offensive, and is merely a hypothetical wondering. I don't want abuse, but serious debate on the question. Please. All opinions respected and respectful.

Suppose there was no reward. If we died and that was the end, BUT God/Jesus still asks you to worship adore and follow him. Would you? If you follow out of love and belief, then the answer should be yes. And wouldn't it be very shallow to devote to a religion purely for the rewards?

OK so if Jesus told Peter, that his church would be the rock for which he would spread the word of God (Chrisitinity) and Peter is the first Pope of the Catholic Church, Why are there so many non-Catholic christian churches? If Jesus said this to be truem shouldn't all christian churches be Catholic? Or are other versions of christianity a warped belief of Gods word? I guess what I am trying to say is Why are there other forms of Christianity instead of everyone being Catholic (Jesus chosen Christianity) Are all other forms of Christianity sinners for following false beliefs? Why have other Christians removed 4 books of the Bible? I need some answers please!

I might be going to church on Sunday. I'm not Christan, and this will be my first time going for 3 or 4 years, and I'm a Freshman in high school. I've maybe been 5 times at the most my entire life. So I have a few questions...
1) : How do I tell/ask my mum that I want/if I can go?
2) : What do I wear? (last time I went, I was in GA(I now live in MD) and I went in jeans and a nice shirt with my friend and her family, I got stared at like I had lost my mind.
3) : Is there anything I should/need to know before going?

By the way, I might be going with my boyfriend and his family. Their very Christan people from what I can tell. I really don't want to screw this up.
Thanks in advance!♥

... that the only requirement for advancement in this country were that you were white, conservative, Christian and male?

..that a women's sense of self-worth derived from being barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen?

.... that the idea of equal rights for all was considered an abomination?

... that thousands of our teenaged daughters were dying at the hands of back-alley abortionists?

... that the harmless game of "eenie, meenie, minie, moe" meant lynching a random slave at the annual Spring Picnic?
