Obviously you don't want to understand it either, or you'd go ask in astronomy or physics or get a book out of the library.
Congratulations on your ignorance.

Well, since no one was there, I doubt we'll ever know for 100%, that goes for Christians as well. However, I can only assume that either all the matter and energy was there, just not in the form that we know it, or maybe something to do with dimensions twisting or something. We don't have any proof that it WAS anyone or anything other than a god, but then, where's your proof that it was your or any other god that created all this? And you're right, it wasn't Tom Cruise or John Travolta, it was Chuck Norris....^_^

Have you ever read that one quote telling people not to believe something just because it conforms to their beliefs? Well the person said that because it happens, A LOT! So because it is in with his beliefs, he undoubtedly believes it. Now I guess one COULD argue God made everything with his power or part of himself, which isn't nothing. But then the age old question of how He was created comes about. But i don't think the problem here is about this seemingly condtradicting beliefs. I think the REAL problem is words :) Yes, words. Let's take take this situation to the bear minimal. So the first statement is that something (in this case the something is nothing) created (via big bang) the universe out of nothing. Now his belief: Something (in this case God) created the universe from nothing. So you see you both believe in the EXACT SAME THING! "Something created the universe from nothing" :). Why do you have to get so concerned over names "WHOMG! THE NAME SHOULD BE NOTHING NOT THE GOD!!!!!1111shift+1!!"

You do realize that science and Scientology have NOTHING is common, don't you? John Travolta and Tom Cruise belong to the wacky made-up cult called "Scientology". Some of the most brilliant people who ever existed were scientists -- e.g. Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking.
You should try reading a little about modern astrophysics before you start making comments that show ignorance. The Big Bang happened about 13.7 billion years ago. Scientists with powerful telescopes can actually see evidence of it happening, when they look at radiation from 13+ billion light years away. It has nothing to do with the formation of the earth which happened about 4.5 billion years ago.

Scientologists are a cult that believe aliens populated the earth.
Scientists are men and women with PhD who study and investigate specific natural phenomenon, inlcuding cosmology.
The big-bang theory is the explanation for THE OBSERVED expantionary phenomenon of the universe. It explains how the universe came into existence, NOT how the earth was formed.
The fact that you asked about this in R&S proves you have no real interest in actually learning anything.

Ok, the world was not created from the big bang. The universe was. The world did not come until billions of years later. You need to ask this question in the science forum. Better yet, go to the library and find a book that deals with astrophysics.

It's only a theory. No one can explain the beginning, what caused it or where the matter came from to start it. Pure conjecture which requires you to believe. Man seems to want to know how everything works and if he can't, he creates a theory based on limited knowledge. Hey, theories are ok as long as they are just that - theory, not fact. Observations of things that supposedly happened millions of years ago and then stating you know how things came into being is ludicrous. It's more honest to admit you don't know. So join the crowd - no one else really understands it either.

The thing is, if you accept the "big bang" and there is enough hard science to lend a lot of weight to that theory--then the corallary arguements that stem from accepting the "big bang" are formation of stars, galaxies, planets, and evolution of sentient beings at least on this planet. From that basis assumption everything follows.

Scientology has nothing to do with the Big Bang! And if you really wanted to have "this whole Big Bang Theory" explained to you, why don't you ask in the Astronomy section? This isn't a question; it's a rant and not very well done, I might add.

haha, im atheist...and if you looked up the big bang youd have the proof you want XD
its the same as your god, people use that as an excuse to commit crimes, yet you cant use the excuse "cause the big bang blew me into the store, so i had to take something"
not that i believe in the big bang, but your question has no research behind it. and scientology is silly anyways, they shouldnt be used in any arguements against anyone XD

A fellow send me a link to try to convince [or confuse] me of the theories [and falsehood] of the big bang. It helped me a lot because the more I read the article the more I realised that God created the universe.
