Home made every time. I havemade cakes every christmas for the last 38 years. They are definately superior to supermarket produce. Take the time to find a good recipe and make one. You will enjoy it so much better. Have a go.

Homemade can be quite hard work especially around christmas as you got the pressies to sort out and the decorations, oh and the rest of the christmas dinner. Marks and Spencers makes the best christmas puddings mmmmmmm....... you can store it in a dry clean place now and when its near christmas heat it up and pour chocolate or any sweet sauce over it.

Alternatively you can buy a christmas pudding and decorate it. That way its a home-made/brought pudding lol. Sometimes making it at home does'nt always turn out right.

I agree with the comment that said it depends on who makes the cake. There are definately folks out there that are meant to bake and others who need to buy. :o)

I know for family birthdays I usually like to bake. They don't look as pretty, but they sure taste better!

Have an awesome holiday season and have fun which ever you decide.

Depends who makes it...not everyone can make a good cake...so I prefer the ones bought from the shop...and I can recommend Betty's in Harrogate...beautiful cakes

Edit]
When you check spelling Harrogate comes out Arrogate...must be from Yorkshire this spell checker..

I buy mine from the shop. I made one one year and you would have needed a jack hammer to slice it. But then again I am not the worlds greatest cook.

Always homemade. It's cheaper in the sense of wasting petrol to go buy it and buying it. It's healthier - you know what you put in it and it hasn't got any preservatives. Plus you can ice it in whatever way you want.

I would love either, but this whole gluten intolerance is a royal pain. I'll just lick off the frosting!

Sometimes I bake my own and other times I will buy a cool one from the bakery if I am pressed for time.
