Christians, why is pornography so bad? I'd like a reason too, not just a "cuz it is"

The evidence goes on and on, the earth is not 6000 years old, there are plants that are older than that, dna, the big bang, the more we learn, the more it becomes clear the bible was written by stupid, petty, evil men who stoned people to death and did hundreds of things in the name of god, who they say is good, but who murdered so many in the flood, etc, etc.

Don't you just get tired of it? Don't you wish there would be some evidence supporting the bible?

Christians shouldn't always turn the other cheek and ignore the attacks of secular thought, says one prominent conservative writer. They need to step out and meet the atheist critique.

Whenever the topic of slavery/effects on society comes up and everyone gets to arguing, there's always that one guy that comes out and says: "Well, your people enslaved whites X-thousand years ago, so I don't want to hear any more excuses."

What does that have to do with anything?

That's like me saying: "Well, your people enslaved blacks 150 years ago, so I don't want any more excuses..."

*stretches out up-turned palm*

"...where are my reparations? I'd like 40 acres and a mule, please." And we've all been through this argument before, so I don't need to elaborate.

But it's just weird, how some people jump right back on the same X-thousand-year-old crap, as if US slavery was some sort of judgment or "just desserts" for stuff that went on before Jesus was born. You're not supposed to use ancient history as an argument to complain about the discussion of fairly recent history...right?

What's up with that?

Did I make a real mistake.
Some background:
The American called me names after making a hash of things himself. Frankly, I can't be bothered and I spoke my mind, because he called me a "disaster" and to me a disater is something like a hurricane, not someone like me who does her best and deliver. He is so uncool, no ?

"I-I-I-I-I look at all those lonely people." (violins kick in at this point)da-da-da .. da-da, da-da, "Father McKensie went to the church" ........ and did something or other, I can't remember. Who were the other people mentioned in that song?
I think that this is one of the Beatles better songs - they had some that were good, and some that weren't so good. But I'm no music expert.

The verse about false prophets. I mean, not Falwell specifically, but that whole area of preacher. Do you think the verse could be a prediction of the future corruption of Christianity that we're seeing today?

Is the public confused between the two? Should I ascertain a white person living in the West is automatically "christian" anymore than someone who has heriditary roots in the Middle East without even seeing the inside of a synagogue(or practicing a faith) as being "Jewish"?

If you were born in Israel, that makes you an Israeli, and not a Jew. If you live in the US, are a decendent of an Israeli, does that quantify as being "jewish"?

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their
days interesting ... Well for example, the other day I went into town
and went into a shop. I was only in there for about 5 minutes, when I
came out there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. I went up to him
and said, "Come on man, how about giving a senior citizen a f*****
break" He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. I called him a
Nazi turd. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having
worn tyres. So I called him a s---head. He finished the second ticket
and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a
third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I abused him,
the more tickets he wrote.

Personally, I didn't care. I came into town by bus. I try to have a
little fun each day now that I'm retired. It's important at my
age..........

I was watching something about Satanists on Discovery the other night and learned an alarming fact. The Church leader said that they dont believe in God nor the Devil or life after death. That all of the rituals and stuff they do is too mock Christianity. I wouldn`t liken them to atheist, they`re idiots. The only thing worse than religion is anti-religion. All the rituals and crap they do remind me of the Catholic Church. Since they claim they don`t believe in that crap do you think they are really sheep in wolves clothing?

I have seen it written of the Seniors Group that we are close knit. I sincerely hope that is true for a number of reasons other than that we are exclusive.

Lets be real, We know it‘s true!! Too often the best answer in this group is chosen more for the popularity of the answerer than for the quality of the answer. When I vote for a best answer I usually find that I am in agreement with the majority of voters. Amazing.

I have also observed that the askers who chose their own best answer will most often chose an answer that reinforces their already formed opinions.

From this day forth I will put all may questions out for vote. I believe that will remove any appearance of bias and help create a level playing field that welcomes diverse and interesting answerers.

What do you think?
