I hope to be, but I have a friend who's dying of pancreatic cancer and I told him I'd be there to shut his eyes. I've already told Mama that if that fell over Christmas then I would need to miss it just his once. She understood. But I do *hope* to be home for Christmas.
As for the Mrs. Claus comment, I'd hope the parents would love their son as much as my parents love me.

I will be home for Christmas. Every member of the family should try be home for Christmas. Their reaction will depend on how tranparent or secretive the son's lifestyle is to the parents and what values the parents have. .

I guess it depends on your family....mine would expect me to do someting wild and out of the ordinary.
I'm always home for the holidays but unfortunately it's not a white Christmas because I live in Florida and I also have to work at my pet sitting business (busiest time of the year)

I think that your folks would be happy and so would you if you could just come home for Christmas and be a bit more like you were when you were a child, except that you bring them something that they will like, and remind them of happy times you had as a family in Christmases past.

This is the first year that I won't have a home to go to. My mother is in a nursing home and my daughter lives in another state. I will probably be by myself and it will be hard. If my family could be with me, I wouldn't care if they wore dog suits.

No, I have to work Christmas and Christmas Eve. That's alright. I don't have to deal with all the "In-bread, brain-dead, red-necks" plus my grandmother who I swear is a witch.
So, I'm glad I'm working come to think about it.

my parents are dead, they were my "home", so no, I will never again be home for Christmas. But I will provide a home for my children.
