The evidence goes on and on, the earth is not 6000 years old, there are plants that are older than that, dna, the big bang, the more we learn, the more it becomes clear the bible was written by stupid, petty, evil men who stoned people to death and did hundreds of things in the name of god, who they say is good, but who murdered so many in the flood, etc, etc.
Don't you just get tired of it? Don't you wish there would be some evidence supporting the bible?

My post does not mention christians, and as far as I know, christians are not the only "bible believers". I just asked a question, I'd guess bible believers would really like to see some scientific evidence that supports something said in the bible. I could list dozens, perhaps hundreds of indications in the bible that it was written by primative, stupid men. No woman wrote it.

Silver asks how long was a day? The bible says how long a day was, 6 places it says "there was morning and evening, one day". A day means a day, unless science proves the world couldn't have been made in 6 days, then bible "believers" say a day isn't a day. Go figure.

I am not a believer in the bible and basically think it is all a pile of horse sh*t. I do commend you on having the courage to post a negative question in regard to religion as have found on here that if you state your opinion and it happens to be against religion, you really cop it.
So just thought I would post an answer so you would have at least one that is not abusing you.

Wow, you need to do some serious homwork. I suggest you go to jsm.com and by the $30 2,500 page expository Bible they have. Many sell the same for $150-200, You have to call as tv special. Then go to gradypublications.com and buy the book "How satan turned America agianst God". Finally I suggest you go to knowthecause.com. This site shows how the Biblical laws are proved by science and that it is incredible that people 3-000 years ago knew this stuff. Also the host is Doug Coffman and he was in the Vietnam war and came back sick like and many and figured out it was from FUNGUS. By getting rid of the stuff you can save your life. No anybody that had a yeast infection?
In the Bible the Rabbi had to come out and get rid of mold, mildew, fungus, why? Well today we know this stuff makes you sick, remember "black mold" and all the houses that had to be torn down. What about food, there are sound scientific reasons for that. I know the pork people tout that pork is the 'new white meat", but study it. Catfish, lobsters are bottom feeders. If you have a fish bowl you know what goes to the bottom. Pigs roll around in and eat it. It was not because they didn't have refrigerators back then.
You mention the "big bang" thoery. Just how did this big giant rock appear in the sky and then blow up. Was there a giant kid with a slingshot, like King David, that threw it? Close your eyes what do you see-dark, look to the sky and you see blue. What was here before that, you say nothing then what is nothing. The big bang theory has been proved as a joke for a long time. Who put the rock there?
How could a stupid person know something before even today's scientist knew about it? Divine intervention. Hey I am not here to judge you, but show you the way to disprove what you have written.
Study the dark ages when Europe walked away from the Bible. 2/3 of the population perished due to stupidity.
Religions from South America, Asia, Europe, and all over mention a "great flood". It's funny that you know nothing or have been programmed to think this way. Do the math and then you can make a good choice, just not some mumbo jumbo that you cannot support. Many of todays laws are based on the Bible and with good cause. Just think if everyone followed the Bible, you would not need to lock lyour doors, no murder, rape , etc. Too bad many in congress don't follow.
It's a know fact that if you are "unclean" you are prone to more infections and your spouse is also. No stupid, petty, evil (although it mentions evil people for a reason) learn something it may be the best thing you could do. Take care.

Just kidding, but expand your horizon ane who you get your info from, you'll be glad lyou did. Also there is a verse in the Bible were you can ask the Lord to curse your enemies, but none about killing your brother (humanity).

How stupid where these people? Since there were no real scientists at that time back then and they did not have the knowledge that you have in your little finger while they did not. Go figure that out of those ancestors you came out. That is not stupidity is it.
Well any way to get to the point. How stupid is it for a primitive man to wish or hope or dream that they came from a God that created a universe? And that described the creation of every thing the way that we know now? Rather than to just believe that they came out of the dirt instead, like everything else.

There's a lot of evidence to support that the bible didn't happen in literal form, but not to suggest it didn't happen at all. Like the big bang. And God said let there be light. That sounds like it could be a metaphor for the big bang. Also, if you alter the creation story so that a day translates to millions of years, it actually fits. For the most part.
Also, on the subject of stoning, Jesus himself got a woman out of stoning by saying "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Despite that verse's frequent modern use as a way of saying, "We are virtuous, therefore we can judge you," he was actually saying, "What? And you're all perfect?" Sounds like the bible was pretty anti-stoning to me.

I love science, the more we learn about creation the more we come to realize that we were created. You really need to read and study the bible with someone who has studied it with the perspective that it is Gods holy word, and when it is interpreted the Right way, you will discover the reality of Gods love, and the fact that he created us. There are mean people in the bible, who killed and murdered, but those were mostly non-believers in the true God ,the God that gave us the bible, or they were non-believers in Christ. Christ himself told us not to Kill, God told us not to kill, Jesus told us to share the message of his coming and ascention. 6000years old? I've heard some Christians say that, I am a firm believer in Christ but I do not agree with mans made up rules and not that the earth is 6000 years old, so don't let that turn you away, just go to the source and find someone is not against the Bible to help you study it.

How do you answer the fact that when the KJV is read by logicians, it is both mathematically and logically flawless?

All evidence against the Bible has been proven false. The more people study science the more they are discovering that it evolution can not be possible. If you believe in evolution, then you have been brainwashed and you know little about the Bible or its writters or it's Author, God. It sounds like you are getting tired of the lack of evidence supporting Evolution.

The question should probably be, don't THEY get tired of spending their lives looking for evidence to disprove it? I mean, seriously, they put more effort into trying to NOT believe it than I do believing it. Believing in the Lord and all He created, including his Word, the Bible, doesn't take the same kind of effort that they put into disproving it. It just takes an open heart and God gives you the grace and the faith to believe in all He created for You!

If you read the bible, you will notice the lack of dates. It says that God created the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th. The word "day" and the way we think of it is our personal perception. We have no way of knowing what a day is to God. Maybe it's a thousand years...But please be sure of your slander. If you are wrong, you will have to stand in judgement...I am not willing to take that chance. I will pray that the Lord will open your eyes to His word. If you read the Bible, you will be amazed.

Stupid? Let's think about it for a second.
The bible- is the best selling book of all time, has been around for longer than most civilizations, has BILLIONS of followers, has been the basis for ALL laws and society, will be around longer than YOU will.
Not sure if STUPID Primitives is a term I would use to describe people who wrote (or were commanded by God to write) the MOST read collection of documents in all of human history.
I guess you would also call the ancient Egyptians primitive, even though they created the greatest buildings (pyramids)on the planet?
It seems the only thing stupid around here is your bigotry.
Oh, and one more thing. Archeology at least has been proving that many events, places and people mentioned in the Bible actually existed. So, I don't know why you or anyone would dispute the entire Bible, when so much of it has been proven by science to be genuine.
