Racism will never end for good, and so long as people are jealous or misunderstand other governments, culture, religions etc it will remain in mainstream society

I don't think we have it within ourselves for humankind to end racism. I think it would be possible in small groups, but the whole world will never be able to shake it. There are too many groups that are -- by definition -- racist. Some groups have changed and there has been progress. But to end racism is impossible without a world-wide effort. Man can't accomplish that. If anyone is capable of ridding the world of racism, it is God. Christians believe that at the end of days, everyone will be a brother or sister. Race won't be an issue and never will again.
This world just isn't perfect. Without a huge world-wide impetus to rub it out, it will always exist. Some people say it's human nature. But, have you ever seen kids playing? They don't think about skin color when they are three, four years old. They play to play. It's parents who would have to change their attitudes, because -- eventually -- their children will pick up on their prejudice.
Personally, we don't tolerate racist or prejudicial talk in our home or from people we know. My son has never had an ounce of racism in him. But that is only because he has such a strong influence of "equality" at home. My daughter is being raised the same way. If every parent on the earth were to suddenly realize the importance of never judging anyone based on their skin color, monetary means, culture, or other traits, then we'd beat racism. I just see it as a vicious cycle. Until it is broken, there will be racism.

Racism has existed since man has been on this earth. It exist all over the world in every race and culture. not just in the US. Until we can all see beyond our differences and realize the blood that my brother bleeds is the same color as mine we will probably never cease to be ignorant of one another and look at just what's on the service. The bible speaks of a time when the lion shall lay down with the child and eat straw with the lamb. I feel that this is would probably be the end of racism.

Never. It might not be present in great proportions but there are still those subtle elements of racism. But I think over time, racism diminished with each new generation.

ok the complex answer has just arrived, everyone to an extent is racist, i cant deny it myself, because i know if im in a LARGE crowd (20+) of another race and im the only one, i get a little scared because usually im the one thats getting stared at.. and that DOES make me racist to a degree. although i have many friends of all nationalities and do not think/say/wish anything bad about them. but im also racist upon my own race.. i hate the fact that our ancestors were racists and it implanted a seed in all of us, i believe the next racists to be are african american and hispanics being racists against white people (which is pointless, but why didnt the earlier generations already get this over with?) some day yes racism will end, but "HOW" it will end my friend is the question... by the way everything i have said is my personal opinion and it is not meant to anger or offend anyone, if it does anger you or offend you, please email me and i will personally apologize to you.

Racism will end when we decide to put an end to it. It must start with you and me and inside the person.

never... coz there will always be people who think they are superior over others... and this leaves others feeling inferior...

i am half filipino and just recently, there was this buzz about the hit tv series DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES (which im thankful for coz i dont watch it) where one lead actress tells the one she was talking to that she needs to check the credentials of the doctor coz he might have just come from a philippine medical school...

it wasnt a joke, it wasnt even stereotyping, it was insulting...

come to think of it, america admit it or not, asians populate their hospitals... and frankly speaking, asians do very well in hospitals...

for an asian to enter an american hospital, he has to go to a series of exams.. passing those exams only means two things... that the examinee is as good as an american doctor or is better than an american doctor.. admit it or not, its up to you...

so as long as there are people who think they are superior over the others, racism will not end...

even a multi-awarded said to be intelligent and recognized actress couldnt step up to rectify what she is going to say in a shoot...lucky for her she's an american.. so what if she wasnt? she'll also feel the same way the stereotyped and insulted medical people from the philippines felt.. ??

i just hope when she gets old she wont go about employing a filipino nurse or doctor to take care of her... and i hope, no matter how big her offer is going to be, that no filipino would want to take care of her... an apology is not enough... the damage is already done,,,

so that's it... phew...!!!

that had me going on and on...

Racism will end when "free will" no longer exists and the only option we have is to love one another.
HuMans know not what they do.

Either never or when the current trend towards an increasingly diverse population creates a very small minority of so-called "white" people. Already, vast numbers of people are multi-racial. California has been in the "white as minority" column for almost 5 years already.

It will end when we are all so blended together that there is only one race. Unfortunately, humans will find something else to fight about. Maybe people with curly hair will hate people with straight hair. And we all know that people with brown eyes are full of it, so blue eyed people are superior. There will always be something silly like that to fight over.
