I was raised Catholic and my husband was given the choice to have a religion or not by his parents who only believe in God....Now i want to raised our son Catholic but he says that he should have the choice of going to church or not, but atteding Mass is how we learn to be better Catholics and learn more about the Catholic faith....he says taking him to church is the samething as forcing religion on him and that if taking him to church begins to damage our son he will stop me from taking him church......what should i do?

God didn't allow anyone hurt Caim, He allowed him go away and start a new life somewhere else. Why? This passage is very discouraging, isn't it?

I believe Caim had the chance to redeem himself in another life and that is waht happens to us, we all have several chances to redeem ourselves by living several lives. I know you are going to say that's not what is in the Bible and that God gave Caim another chance in his life (not after his death), but as everything in the Bible, wouldn't that be a parable?

Your thoughts?

I was raised in a pentacostal church and attended church up until about 2 years ago. Since then I have had a strained relationship with God and a bitterness towards organized religion. I still believe in God but to many things have been said and done at the church I had been attending that I did not agree with. Also it was a small congrgation and everyone knew everyone elses business and were extremely judgemental and hypocritical. Ok so anyways I should tell you I am a single mom of 2 and I recently carried a baby for a gay couple. What I need to know is what kind of church should I be looking for. Up until about a week ago I had no plans on attending church again but something in me is telling me to go. So any advice would be appreciated. Also I am in the Phoenix area so if any of you know of an accepting church near me that would be great. Thank you.

I heard taking a vow of silence can help you spiritually and mentally because of religiouse beliefs. But if you do take a STRICT vow of silence, is there any actuall benefit? Is there any side effect like forgetting how to speak your language or maybe not being able to speak at all? How long would you have to take a vow of silence to know when your ready to speak again? I'm really curious on this matter. If anyone can anyone answer these questions in deep detail I would appreciate it. And please dont put any small answers with hardly any detail at all, if you do, it'll show that you dont know what your talking about.

I have a friend who takes the bible completely literally and he explained the dinosaurs by quoting a couple bible passages that mentioned beasts. I am just curious if there are any bible passages that the Christians are prepared to point to when life on another planet is found.

Many ask the question " What is God's will for my life". The simple answer is to serve others. What is it that you love to do for others? That is the area that God has gifted you. Do it as unto the Lord and enjoy the blessings he pours into your life.

referr to wrinkles as "unsightly"? It makes women feel bad about ageing, something that comes to us all. They are selling their product by making women feel inadequate.

Well i remembered, when i was in college my theology prof and me had a little, debate..
My prof said, all human being born here in the world have original sins.. Original sins starts when you still a baby. Meaning the moment you saw the light of the world you automatically has the sin.. They called taht original sin.. that why they saying nobody is perfect int his world, and all the people are born with sins..
So? if that so? if that was the lesson that my college professor learned in their craft, would it be accurate?? coz their teaching it in college level?
So doesnt it confusing.. Is in it, Jesus Christ was born here in the world? so He also have original sin? technically his not perfect too?
what can you say??

((( anyway, Im not an anti-Christ or anything against to our ALmighty. I just have questions, and as a Catholic, i guess i have the rights to know everything who really or what really im worshipping.))) tnx

Oh God Oh God Why Have Though Forsaken Me?

For those Trinitarians:

Wouldn't it have been Oh Mary, Holy Spirit, and Myself, Why Have Though Forsaken Me?

Why did he not say that?

For Those Christian Believers That Think Jesus Is God's Son:

Would Jesus's father let him perish like that?

For Those Who Believe Jesus Sacrificied Himself Intentionally:

Why would he regret being sacrificied?

I would say, for against the british, Buddhists are.

I know there are exceptions (like the anti-war protests in the uk)

If you look at the IRA, or the Islamic fundamentalists, we only gave them their country back after they stopped being such naughty little cry babies and stopped bombing us. But look at ghandi in india or hong kong...they are some of the most strongest economies on theplanet and they will beat us all now, not a shot fired. We gave them their countries back happily and stayed friends and all the better for it, the uk respect decency and honour.

My point is, if muslim societies cound manage a peacefull protest between them (yes I know bad apples blahblah), then they would have the symapathy of the world, like the Bhurmese monks, and we wouldn't all vaguely dislike or mistrust them. (not that I do, but as a pacifist, it's hard to feel sympathy for those who attack the west despite guantanamo or Iraq)

The gnostic texts fit everything that the cannon consists of. The only difference is a bunch of cardinals didn't let them into the bible a long time ago. Why is it so hard to consider that they might have been mistaken?

Remember there was a time when doctors had no problem with smoking, kids brought toys weapons on plains, and the earth was flat. Isn't it at least a possibility.

This is a serious question. Because science only has one version to teach.

Having faith that the God in your head actually exists? A lot, IMO, but people seem to bring this up with me every time.

There's a slight difference between empirical evidence and complete supposition.

OK, I am familiar with internet trolls, however, on this site can't for the life of me figure out the WHY?..Just what does someone get out of violating members in Seniors? With the exception of VERY rare 'visitors' who post something obnoxious, or highly biased/racist, I have read NOTHING that should get someone up in arms. This is the most non contentious part of Y!A!

Also can someone be violated by another person giving them thumbs down?

Help me to understand how all this works. It seems that Y! does not respond to members' concerns?

The emergency room didn't fix Aaron Evans, the 14-year-old asked his dad if he was going to die.

"No, no," David Evans remembers saying. "We didn't know. And here I am: I come home and I'm burying him."

What was bothering Aaron was an amoeba, a microscopic organism called Naegleria fowleri that attacks the body through the nasal cavity, quickly eating its way to the brain. The doctors said he probably picked it up a week before while swimming in the balmy shallows of Lake Havasu.

Such attacks are extremely rare, though some health officials have put their communities on high alert, telling people to stay away from warm, standing water.

"This is definitely something we need to track," said Michael Beach, a specialist in recreational water-born illnesses for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
