in fact we send ourselves to Hell by not following God/Jesus. How come God doesn't send us to Hell if He is the one who will judge our deeds, our efforts, our intentions and convict us guilt or innocent?

Mat 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
Mat 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Being pissed with all of the blaspheming going on, in Gen 6:3 he limits man's lifespan to 120 years, right before the "flood". You'd think a good manager would implement this revolutionary practice immediately.

But no. He lets Noah (who was 600 at the time) go on his SS Minnow voyage to save the animals. Then, after watching Noah get all liquored up and cursing his son's son Canaan, he then lets Noah live another 350 years instead of setting a good example in telling him to get his drunk carcass into a the ground pronto.

Not only that, continuing generations for hundreds, if not thousands, of years live well beyond the god mandated 120 years,. Shem, then Arphaxed, then Salah, Eber, Peleg: hundreds of years a piece. The list goes ever on. Abraham lives 175, well into Gen 25.

Any middle manager being unable to implement his own policy would have been canned long before the problem ran on.

And presidents or CEOs being this ineffective? Companies would collapse.

Dopey, eh?

I'm not wanted to start a fight, I'm just really trying to understand how someone can come to this conclusion.

The dictionary states that to persecute means to:

oppress or harass with ill-treatment, especially because of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or beliefs.

Now, I understand that there are a few people in this world that DO harass you because you are Christian. And for that, I will say that in that particular instance, you can say you are being persecuted.

However, I don't understand how someone can get off saying that the ENTIRE country persecutes Christianity.

Um, huh? Would you please explain to me how this country, which even though is based on the separation of church and state is leaning STRONGLY in your general direction, is persecuting you?

I mean, if you call that persecution, then how do you think homosexuals feel when they can't marry in this country? If persecute means to oppress, and oppress means to burden with cruel or unjust

I read on a Haloween website that during the fall or Haloween season, bad people will go to petstores, buy all black cats or kittens and "sacrifice" them on Halloween night! They torture then kill the poor creatures! Have you ever heard of this? I think that it's soo mean! :(

Has the internet brought out the worst in people who would have been pedophiles either way, or are all these news stories glamorizing child pornography and turning otherwise decent people into pedophiles? Thoughts please!

that the theory of evolution is at least 450 years BCE? That would place it about 1 millenium (1000 yrs) before the Theory of God.

Using Democritus and Empedocles works to further build upon the foundation of their theory.

These verifiable scientific experiments are shaking the foundation of Abrahamic Religions. What should we do?

I recently heard a lecture given by a Muslim speaker and he stated that the words, 'Son of God' was inserted at a later date and not found in the original Greek scriptures. Any informed thoughts are welcome.

Where you live, when people see it, they feel welcome? Or they say, "don't go near THAT place!"

Mine says "Go Away!" after we got broke into, we put an alarm system, bars on windows, motion detectors outside all doors, and 8 cameras! Now the thieves (teen boys) try a new tactic; they knock on our door with a clipboard in their hand. We have a pa system so we do not have to actually open the door, but when we see them standing there (on the monitor), we don't even bother to answer the door!

Amazingly, when we were installing the cameras, one teenager boy parked across the street from our home, angry, watching us install the cameras. The police said that they would be back! These THEVES feel they had the "right" go to back in a month later and steal what we replaced, again! WHAT NERVE!

Go Away! And we mean it!!

Do you think that Jesus' fate was inevitable regardless of what went in his favor since God put these things in motion from the begging of time?

Mine are:

2 corinthians 4:8-12
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.

Jeremiah 29:11-14
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity.

Psalm 34 (all)- read it!

"When we have reasons for what we believe, we have no need of faith; when we have no reasons, or bad ones, we have lost our connection to the world and to one another. Atheism is nothing more than a commitment to the most basic standard of intellectual honesty: One’s convictions should be proportional to one’s evidence. Pretending to be certain when one isn’t--indeed, pretending to be certain about propositions for which no evidence is even conceivable--is both an intellectual and a moral failing. Only the atheist has realized this. The atheist is simply a person who has perceived the lies of religion and refused to make them his own."

II Timothy 3:1-7:
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Stay in the Word, brethren. This world is NOT our home. There are people out there that are literally possessed by the devil. Watch your family brethren. Satan is out there.

There is serious persecution in other countries where people are imprissoned or tortured for their faith. And sometimes this happens in America. But American persecution against Christianity is different. More in the lines of family cutting new Christian off. Not letting Christian family member listen to Christian music. Or even on Yahoo, people accuse Christians of being liars, murderers, etc. So false accusation is a big part of American Christian persecution. Not letting Children check out a bible from their school library or acknowledge there is a Creator. Making Christian children take classes indicating that we were once a monkey, etc. & what happens when the child argues that.

How do you feel about this quote? Do you feel as if you can't think and make individual decisions once a leader has spoken?

Criticism is particularly objectionable when it is directed toward church authorities, general or local…It is quite another thing to criticize or depreciate a person for the performance of an office to which he or she has been called of God. It does not matter that the criticism is true…Our individual, personal testimonies are based on the witness of the spirit, not on any combination or accumulation of historical facts. If we are so grounded, no alteration of historical facts can shake our testimonies." (Dallin H. Oaks, "Elder Decries Criticism of LDS Leaders," quoted in The Salt Lake Tribune, Sunday August 18, 1985, p. 2B)
