The Term "Holy Spirit" was intended to Convey that "God" and "Mankind" are a collective spiritual awarness, yet, maintaining ones own identity to the self, one can still experience "God" as a whole by Joining "Him" by becoming AWARE of Him.

God is such a part of You, that the term "Blasphemy" has no true meaning as man cannot blame "God" for bad things man creats nor can mankind separate God from the self, to condemn God is to Condemn yourself.

Religion separated God from man by teaching that God is separate and above man, and not within.
Churches would gladly lable you a Heretic, excommunicate you and or possible kill you depending on what time or place you elected to make such claims.

Many Religions have spoken of this and argued it's meaning.

Consider that Jesus was a man and gained his advanced awarness of "God" by numerous encarnations in the physical world. By doing this Jesus became "Christ-like" or "The Christ" in religious terms.

Each personality, you, I, are on the same trek Jesus was, no different.

Your questions ask's "what is the job of the Holy Spirit?
I would answer "To Creat", to Experience all that is and to endlessly do all of the above.

Consider "God" not thee Creator, but the source of creation as man co-creats by mere thought alone.

In this Physical realm Earth, we see mankind creating all things, buildings, objects of any kind and so on. This is done by learning, by thinking and then by simply making it; this process is slow and in this, we learn the diciplines of thoughts as thought creat. Within this realm we see thoughts creat slowly, yet, in others realms (endless) we learn thoughts creat Instantly. Now one can understand why our thoughts need schooling in this realm. This simply is one of many reasons man elects to experience this realm for his personal advancement in spirit.

One cannot become a teacher in Spirituality if one has no empathy for Physical beings. The physical life teaches pain and suffering of ones own making, it also teaches pleasure of creation and using the mind and hands to do so as this is, again, discipline.

Yes, the holy Spirit is inside each, each person, each onject as "God" is a Gestalt, or "More than the sum of all that is". Yet, Consider "Holy" as not religious nor "above it all" in the pulp[et pounding sense ; "His eminence" requires no bowing, no worship and no obedience in any sense at all.

Within reality, or "All that is" mankind is a big part of that concept "God", the Gestalt and Custodian of awarness. With that said would it make sense for most to see how "God" is within and not "without"? There is no need of Churches, Popes and such to teach man "what God is or what God wants as this is no concern of anyone but God, and You.

To Pray is to speak to God and to Meditate is to Listen.

I have learned that by listening, I learn more and by speaking, I express more.

Dear dad:
The holy spirit is not a person ....and certainly not part of a trinity.
It wasn't until the 4th century that the holy spirit was looked upon as a person.
That was not a new insight, it was a corruption.
The 'spirit' is a force.
It is God's power to accomplish whatever He wishes.
e.g. He wanted to create earth.
What does Genesis 1:2 say?
"God’s active force was moving to and fro over the surface of the waters."
That's from the NWT and I invite you to check other translations.
Acts 2:4 says the early christians were "filled with holy spirit "
ooooh! I hope its not a person.

It's less a matter of a 'job' than consideration of a state of being. The answers to your list of rhetorical questions is "Yes". (in consideration of the context of the questions) The premise of the holy spirit is that it's the aspect of Divinity found within all of creation; and the 'common ground' which ties everything to the transcendent (some think self-aware) state of Be-ing. (God/Life/etc)

Paul speaks of the Holy Spirit as knowing the thoughts of God-indicating that the Spirit has an intellect: "For what person knows a man's thoughts except the spirit of the man which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God" (1 Cor. 2:11).

He also speaks of the Holy Spirit exercising the faculty of will, as in the distribution of spiritual gifts: "All these are inspired by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills" (1 Cor. 12:11).

Scripture also teaches that the Holy Spirit serves as a Paraclete (Greek parakletos) on our behalf. This term, often translated as "Comforter," "Counselor," "Advocate," or "Helper," refers to a person who is called or summoned to aid one, especially in legal settings, where he serves as an advisor, or advocate for the accused.

Jesus repeatedly speaks of the Holy Spirit as a Paraclete whom he will send to help us: "The Advocate [parakletos], the Holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name-he will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you" (John 14:26; cf. 15:26, 16:7-8).

The Holy Spirit is the part of God that abides within us. He will lead and guide us, comfort us, and make intercession for us at times when we don't know what to pray for.

The Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity (The Father, Son and Holy Spirit) who intercedes on our behalf. He acts as the messenger between us and Heaven.

To indwell & compell all believers in Christ to fight the good fight of faith.

And to seal us for the day of redemption

Ephesians 1:13-14 “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory.”

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 “Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.”
