I read on a Haloween website that during the fall or Haloween season, bad people will go to petstores, buy all black cats or kittens and "sacrifice" them on Halloween night! They torture then kill the poor creatures! Have you ever heard of this? I think that it's soo mean! :(

It does occassionally happen, but it's actually very very rare. It's mostly teens who are acting out, trying to be "satanic". It's stupid, and not as common as churches and scare groups would have people believe.
More often, the pets are bought for the same reason baby rabbits are bought at easter (they're "cute") and are later abandoned, which is also tragic.

Several years ago, I had a friend who worked for the Michigan Humane Society. They would not put any black cats up for adoption during the Halloween season for just that reason. Unfortunately, it's sad, sick, & true.

Thats awefull! But some people take the holiday VERY seriously. too seriously if you ask me. I dont care if my trees are teepeed, or if my car is silly stringed, but when i find REAL blood on my doorstep, I realize that some people just go too far for a prank or whatever. Its despicable

I don't doubt some psychopathic teenagers on their way to be serial killers have done this once or twice, but the very idea is aborrant to pagans.
