The Bible clearly states that if you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ you will be saved (from your sin and punishment in Hell). A person's accomplishments has nothing to do whatsoever if they spend eternity in Hell or not. It would be like saying that because a child is born with blue eyes and not brown, they are Christians. It has nothing to do with your soul.

Jesus said this:
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. (John 3)
So it doesn't matter what we think 'good' is, God set the parameters for salvation through Christ. He said it in a way that excluded acts that might look like 'righteousness' or 'enlightenment'.
The point is that man cannot get there on his own, by his own works. Don't you think that God already has a cure for AIDS? I say thins because people who tend to ask questions like this seem to come from a frame of mind that God needs humans to do something. He doesn't, and is way advanced compared to us.
What we need to learn is that we need to trust God. He doesn't need us to figure out how to cure anything, we might, but He doesn't.

Words will send a man to Hell, not a cure for aids.
James 3
5Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
7All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, 8but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

Whether he goes to hell or not depends only on his belief or non-belief in the only Son of God, Jesus, and the work He did on the cross for all who believe in Him. Has nothing to do with anything else.

Whether he would go to hell or not depends upon whether Christ is his Lord and Master; not on anything else.

No, why would Christian's believe that? A cure for Aids would be wonderful. There are many people suffering from this. A cure for cancer, multiple sclerosis, autism...and many more...would be very welcome.
