A great deal is different! The sun we know rises by observation. Faith is based entirely on what we cannot see or observe. Hebrews 11:1 "Now Faith is the evidence of things not seen."

The sun 'rising' can be proven with scientific, hard copy evidence while the existence of God only by the words of the people who have never seen him who say he exists.

Faith has 2 different meanings.
1. To trust based on certain variables.
2. To blindly believe without reason.
I always explain that the second definition is the one that Atheists do not adhere to.

One is a posteriori (the sun rising), one is a priori (the existence of "God").
The first one you can not only have faith in, but a high degree of trust.
The second can range from certainty to delusion, depending on the validity of your propositions.

The obvious answer is that you can see the sun every morning, and we know scientifically WHY it happens. There is no such "evidence" for religious faith.

Well, the actual scientific explanation as to why the sun turns up every morning, for one. Very stupid comparison.

To me, the sun rises every morning because God allows it. It is all His creation and all under His control.

I'd say the breaking point for me is that the Sun is a 2,000,0000,000,000 ,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg ball of nuclear fire.
God...is an imaginary freind.
Big difference.

Not so much a difference but a relationship. The former finds meaning in the latter. The latter is validated by the former.
