and, has the word lost it's true meaning? or has it just been diluted?

All of the hardwork has been done by those that knew the true definition of persecution. Electronic words by an anonymous person could hardly injure a person.

2 Corinthians 2:14-17 "But thanks to God, who always puts us on display in Christ, and spreads through us in every place the scent of knowing Him. For to God we are the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To some we are a scent of death leading to death, but to others, a scent of life leading to life. And who is competent for this? For we are not like many who make a trade in God's message [for profit], but as those with sincerity, we speak in Christ, as from God and before God." CSB

Okay, first of all, please, please, PLEASE only Atheists answer this question! I really don't care what anybody else thinks, I need answers from somone who's actually an Atheist!

I'm currently writing a play, and the Protagonist is an Atheist, however, I need to give him a REASON for being Atheistic to develop his character more. I already have science, but what other reasons do you have for being an Atheist? I know there are more out there, I just don't know of any, so I'm doing research for this play by getting information straight from Atheists themselves. I'm religious myself, so I need to ask others.

If there are certain life experiences (such as, parents or a church deterring you from believing), could you please describe them? Who were the people involved, at what age was it, etc?

Who knows, if you give me a good enough answer, you might just see it on stage one day. ;-)

Many people use this verse referring to physical healing. I wonder how accurate that is. I know God does heal people physically, but I'm not sure it has to do with His wounds. Although His wounds bring about spiritual healing. what are your thoughts on this?

The story continue, this is the best part! Now we are in a tiney fishing boat, one engine and on a stormy sea, with huge swells. I looked over to see the swells hitting the rocks at an alarming rate ,thrushing out foam, and we were a little nervous. As we sailed on we noticed a beach, with an hotel, and people sitting on the hotel patio. We are both English speaking SA's but we also speak Afrikaans. So, I said to ?Denise, in Afrikaans,"we have to get out of this boat, tell them to pull into this beach". But they did not want to. Eventually we decided to bail out and make a swim for it. We were about 300meters away. We jumped overboard and swam!

There were a bunch of Italian business men having lunch on the patio, and the look on their faces, when they noticed two bilini clad girls emerge from the sea wasCLASSIC! Imagine, two girls just appearing out of the sea! They thought two maddonnas had arrived! All rushed down, throwing their jackets over us, all jabbering away in Italian.

Anyone else notice how many questions in R&S aren't questions at all, but people just ranting and expressing their own thoughts and opinions (like this one, lol)

If you go back and check best answer, if the asker chooses the best answer, they usually just pick whatever regurgitates their opinion the most. These questions would be better of to ask "Who can validate my thoughts the best?" It's just the format people seem to expect now.

I sometimes think if someone has a serious religious question or is seeking to gain knowledge, they might be better off posting in the cats or ethnic cuisine section.

I'm right..........AREN"T I?

I recall reading on a website somewhere that God, in the bible, directly kills something like 300,000 people and is responsible for ordering the deaths of over a million more people.

If that's wrong, please point it out to me (with a legitimate reference, of course)...but my main question is this: I can't recall a reference to the devil killing anyone in the bible. Last time I read the bible was about ten years ago, so perhaps memory is failing me...can anybody help me out here?

"Nobody who has invested much time down
a blind alley likes the messenger who shines
a light at the brick wall up ahead".

If so, explain when you have encountered this type of resilience in ones obstinacy in accepting the truth?
Was it your credo or someone Else's?

Similar to P in Cyrillic which is English R. Except H and N seem to have no connection. Why did it form this way?

While I'm at it, why did Cyrillic begin using an backwards English R or Я?

This is for some people whose lives are really the s--thole if you know what I mean. They could have both legs amputated via no fault of their own, gotten raped and contracted viral microorganisms in the body, been beaten so many times as a POW they are warped in the mind? Well, in these extreme cases and many nuances in between, I really wonder how can we ever blame them for rejecting God?

I feel as if YES, it is fact that we weren't given the same footing, nor the the same pains... Yet, we must end in the same destination!! Life is painful and I admit in this trend of thought, I could foil and close my eyes in sheer agony.

Yes, indeed Nichodameus (spelling?) who had all the looks, power, and influence couldn't ultimately accept Christ, but what about if you had less than nothing and then thrown to the dogs? What about that feral-like child who couldn't acquire language after taken out of the dungeon of a basement after being locked up for 12 years (?) or so...Ahh...
