its really only catholics that depict the crucifix quite often. Protestants prefer just to use the cross. Which is good because when i was a kid (very small) and i visited a catholic church, i had nightmares for weeks about the poor yet scary man in pain and hanging on the wall.

you would not delete the symbols that have been part of the human phyche thousands of years before Jesus was Hung from a cross.
God Coming into the world People coming to God. A true crossing.
The Cross as a symbol for the center of the universe the world tree
Prince Five weapons with the sticky hair is left hanging on the cross of the knowledge of life and death.
Odin
The sun door of witch God descends and man ascends each as the others food.
the Symbols talk to the subconscious self. You can pretend to be above it, however they are part of your thinking like it or not . they started in the caves of France with the Neanderthals.
You can choose to ignore 100,000 years of human experience where we were what we are, But you would be a very dull and uninteresting person. A machine in a machine world devoid of poetry and symbols. That is very very sad.
The symbols talk to the the inner parts of the human mind. The part that ALL humans share from every continent and tribe. The People might change and your witch might talk to you. The inner and deeper meaning of it is the same.
Mistaking them for history or condeming them as false history is ridiculous its not about History its about the inner self and our Journey today.
We are the most imortant Generation to ever live. We are at the brink of becoming one world. Your quest to divide is part of the Problem. Why dont you try and look for what makes us one.

After we do that, how 'bout changing the stripes and stars on the American flag to an image of American soldiers torturing prisoners of war? Historical correct, but perhaps not the message people wish to send.

No, no , no. We don't want to glorify the burning of witches. Some of my best friends are witches.
