2 Corinthians 2:14-17 "But thanks to God, who always puts us on display in Christ, and spreads through us in every place the scent of knowing Him. For to God we are the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To some we are a scent of death leading to death, but to others, a scent of life leading to life. And who is competent for this? For we are not like many who make a trade in God's message [for profit], but as those with sincerity, we speak in Christ, as from God and before God." CSB

I think that those words are beautiful - which, of course, can only be expected from God's beautiful Word.

Not only are they beautiful, but true. Those with their hearts open to God see Jesus in us, thus seeing life leading to life. They just know that there's something about us that shines brighter than whatever the world could ever offer.

There are also others who are hard-hearted toward God. In their eyes, we are, ironically enough, the wrong path. We are viewed as something that restrains, something that holds them back from what their carnal flesh wants to go after. We are indeed a stench to them, an odor of death.

Now, those who faithfully spread the Good News (otherwise known as the Gospel) will be viewed as one way or the other, or perhaps even something in between. Either way, they are accepted or rejected, if at least for a while. The only kinds of people who are good for this duty are those who don't do it for the sake of profit, but those who sincerely do it for the glory of the Lord. Those people are the kinds of people that the Lord will display to others, and those others will know that they know God.

We as Christians are to be a pleasing noise to not only God but to all we come in contact to. The priests would wear gold bells and pomegranates from their robes. This was a pleasing tone to God sadly so often we sound like a clanking pan. But Christ stands in the gap as a buffer so that God hears us through him.

2Cr 2:14 "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.
2Cr 2:15 For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing;
2Cr 2:16 to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?
2Cr 2:17 For we are not like many, peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God." NASB

The quote above comes from the New American Standard Bible and its said that its so close to the Greek and Hebrew translations that those who study Greek and Hebrew are using it rather than Greek and Hebrew.

To me it says that God is more pleased with those.who speak sincerely, with thought and healing as from God, and He's not so pleased with those who just talk a lot of religious bull, primarily to make a profit out of scared, sheep-type people who are gullible.
The reference to scent is a nice metaphor.

I GAVE YOU A STAR.
You give a word of God tonight that I needed.
For my message is about the salivations of souls ,not to build another building. Not to say see what I have done, but to see Gods holy word bring salvation to a lost and dying world.<><

it means God is supposedly an "invisible man living in the sky"
how about this: people need to feel fulfilled in their daily lives, without that feeling we are nothing but mass wandering aimlessly around the tarnished soil that is earth. However, your peace can be found through "God" or it can be found through any other means. I was a Christian (for 7 years {half of my life}), but my new "saving" is with my friends not the god portrayed by the Bible. The way i see it, someone could have been bored a long long time ago and wrote a book called the bible seeking fulfillment in his life then was ashamed and did not include a name(for the author) people find it or whatever and they think it was dropped by god or something, only to NEVER realize one amongst then wrote it.

Anywho, i don't really believe that load of crap i just wrote BTW, its just brainstorming. and lastly i have a few words of wisdom for you. Christians look at other religions and say "tsk tsk what a load of crap, hopefully they'll find salvation." and people of other religions say OH! the Karrah is right those Christians... let us pray they are saved. EVERY RELIGION IS JUST A WAY OF DEALING WITH THE ABSENCE OF REASON IN LIFE. also, the heart is an organ that pumps blood throughout our bodies it has no feeling... "god" would've known that.

i leave you with the french saying "lassiez-fairre" which means "live and let live"

FUNNANA!!! SOULS DONT SALIVATE!!!!!

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

I like them a little better in the AV , but sister no matter what the version, they are words of truth and of life. God bless you.

The word picture of how we smell is just another way of saying that we need to reflect Christ to the people around us.

we need the HOLY SPIRIT/RUACH HAKODESH. this
is our "scent". the HOLY SPIRIT teaches us the friut of
the Spirit : "but the fruit of the SPIRIT is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness,faithfulness, humility and
self control. nothing in the Torah stands against such
things". Galatians 5:22-23

earlier I instruct, or admonish every person i need to be 'steeped' in the be attentive to Christ. this suggests that it LIVES (dwells) in me, not in basic terms slightly, yet ABUNDANTLY OVERFLOWING (richly) all different concepts, awarenesses, or sayings. That way my strikes mirror what dwells richly in me. meaning that every day I study, pray and meditate upon Jesus' words and different Scripture and concentration my priorities on my courting with God via Christ. and additionally that I somewhat have won JesusChrist as my Savior having invited Him to stay in my coronary heart and repenting of my sinful nature searching for forgiveness and in doing so forgiving others. Then, if and while there is an possibility provided, I provide the be attentive to Christ ( UNCONDITIONAL LOVE OF GOD AND COMPASSIONATE FORGIVENESS TO ALL MANKIND) to others via utilising this wisdom in coaching and admonishing via psalms, hymns, religious songs which compliment GodAlmighty - with exhilaration and rejoicing and beneficial confirmation uplift and help, not condemnation or laying guilt or shame on somebody else. That which dwells richly in me could be then freely given to others, seeding and fanning the spark that hungers in them, not via concern, yet via God's compassionate unconditional love. thank you for the Q :)
