There is no God in Buddhism only a person (Buddha) in which a person should emulate, (a Boddhavista ~ a person who has reached Nirvana but is remaining behind to help others reach Nirvana == This is found more in Mahayana Buddhism (China, Tibet, Nepal, Korea, Vietnam and Korea) compared with Theravada (Hinayana) Buddhism [Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Burma, Laos & Thailand]). In Hinduism there are many "Gods".

Buddhism is derived from Hinduism. Buddha, as a child and into early adulthood, was a Hindu prince and many of the ideas and ceremonies and symbols in Buddhism are based upon Hinduism.
