There will always be someone more intelligent. Richer. More handsome, beautiful. Isn't the only way to find self-respect?
Where We are ALL truly equal, and is the most Wonderful aspect? To find the spirit within? That Beautiful Being of Light and Love, and We are ALL Our Creators children?
And how do We do that? Through personal spiritual experience. We can start by talking about the experiences We have already had.

You ever thing about why Jew’s circumcise the males?
What purpose do they do this for?
I heard it has to do with being clean or something.
But what if a parasite gets in your penis?
Isn’t that the purpose god made the foreskin in the first place?
Can’t Jews just wash it the right way, so they don’t have to cut anything that really does serve a purpose?
What is the Jewish version of why they do this anyway?
I'm sure God didn't make a mistake when he made us.

I dont think it should you may differ please share your views

I think that children are to open to brainwashing and it causes diiferances at schools

For those of you who think it should, read this example and give me your views

Bob grew up in care, say bobs parents were Christians and when he was fostered He was placed with muslims at the age of 3 and he learnt their teachings and followed their religion till at 9yr he went back home and was then made to revert back to christianity.

would this be right, is it brainwashing, should we not teach our children good moral lessons and save religion for when they are old enought to grasp the vast subject that many adults struggle to come to terms with?

Or is it more important for us to mold our children to follow our footsteps?

If children were left to grow up before finding their spiritual path would this promote a following of religion based on ones belief of the subject rather then what is forced up on them at a young age

If they say atheists will go to hell or are perverse or vile etc is that "defamatheism"? If they fear irreligion is that "atheophobia"?

Any suggestions?

Would it not be good for America, and the world, if the next President of the United States was a Muslim.

It would certainly help bring about a large degree of peace in the middle east! would it not?

What is your opinion? Is it time for Islam to replace Christianity in American politics/foreign policy?

I've seen this done by pretty much everyone, from the Christians ("Atheist: why don't you have morals?) to the other atheists ("Fellow atheist, what do you think about...") to the inane questions ("Atheist: what color is your toothbrush?"). Is there some grammatical rule I'm missing?

for christians and jews, why don't you ever say praise be to allah? and for muslims, why don't you ever say anything like glory to god in the highest? the reason i ask is, aren't you all worshiping the same god? i mean aside from the prophets involved in all of your religions you are all giving respect to the same monotheistic abrahamic god, aren't you? combined you make up over half the worlds population. you all worship the same god who allegedly loves you all and allegedly gave his word so clearly to you all that he wanted you all to love one another and to be peaceful. so why is it so difficult for all of you to make compromises and just settle on one religion?

Thus I will call that creator... Humphrey.
Humphrey made God.
Humphrey is Omnipotent SQUARED
Humphrey is also Eternal SQUARED in that he managed to make God and will still be around when God ceases to be..... forever..... squared...
There may or may not be many many gods... but the one the christians refer to is probably Humphrey's personal son.... making him special and whatnot.

And I know Humphrey exists because I have Plegdib..... which is Faith^2 (i.e. SQUARED)!

I suppose the real question is..... what made Humphrey?

Clearly Humphrey needs a creator too... an Omnipotent CUBED creator called Nigel.

^_^

[ Oh... and congratulations to anyone who can see the point of all this... ]

I have a confession. I used to be an atheist because I knew no better. I am so glad I am no longer an unbeliever and defected. In atheism, the lack of sincerity and lack of real empathy has shown me how dark it really is to be out of God's light.

I see the stark difference in the sort of replies I get to my sincere questions. Atheists deal with it like it's rubbish; Christians will empathize and give sincere replies. The evidence of reality should work out in the way people lead their lives.

Comparing Freud and C.S. Lewis.... I think we know the winner.

This here was a personal declaration AGAINST atheism--no no, not a lambaste, just the simple truth. Good bye.

I have heard of this several times but no one explain how the young man in white linen was identified with Mark and therefore the author of Mark's gospel, can you explain?
or better if you can give an evidence in the bible that Mark is really the author of this Gospel, other than because it was attributed to Mark in the 2nd century.

I have a friend who's dad has Parkinsons and Mom has the begining stages of Alzhiemers. Yesterday I saw them and my friend was crying. He asked "Why is God doing this" and "When will God take my dad to heaven and let him be perfect again"

I didn't leave him hanging and stayed and talked to him but I am wondering how some of you might have (or already have) handled this.

I think a lot of this person and we are friends, yet he is not aware that I am agnostic.
So how would you handle a situation like this?

In the late 1700s some people wanted democratic rule. Conservative elements of the church pointed to the Bible and said it proved that the king ruled by God's will.

In the mid 1800s some people wanted to end slavery. Conservative elements of the church pointed to the Bible and said it proved that God approved of slavery.

In the early 1900s some people wanted to give women the vote. Conservative elements of the church pointed to the Bible and said it proved that God made women inferior to men.

In the mid 1900s some people wanted to end segregation. Conservative elements of the church pointed to the Bible and said it proved God wanted to keep the races separate.

When you look back at how your parents and grandparents dealt with these things, are you ashamed or proud?

Now some people want to allow gay marriage. Conservative elements of the church are pointing to the Bible and saying it proves God hates homosexuality. Do you think they're right this time around?
