When someone is to the point of dying and it would be the best if they did so they didn't have to suffer, would you want them to stay here or go ahead and sleep? I just heard a story at church and a preacher from Africa came to our church to preach and his wifes sister passed away while they were here in the states. They said that before she had passed away she was reaching her arms out and the doctor was asking what she was doing and she said ' Im picking flowers, these are the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen in my life, colors I have never seen.
Hearing that made me cry. She caught a glimpse of where she was going. It makes me relieved that you know that that person was going onto a better life to see family and friends.

So would you want to keep someone here on earth knowing that they are suffering?

To all people who believe in an afterlife (christains.. etc.), what happens to an agnostic or atheist when they die, if they haven't commited any sin and have led a good life? Is the absence of religion really a decisive factor in going to "hell?" Please don't give me any answers saying how bad it is to be an atheist or agnostic, I heard enough of that already. I'm just looking for some validation.

(1) People used to think gods lived on Mt. Olympus.
(2) We've climbed Mt. Olympus and there were no gods there.
(3) Therefore, pagan gods are false.
(4) This implies that only the Christian god is real.

who has been praying for me and my situation and she believes it is Santeria. But from what I have seen Santeria has to do with certain specific saints and this man doesn't do that, in stead he has me pray to God. He has told me certain things about my problems but nothing negative all positive in lifting up my spirits.

If so, what do you do during service?
Pay attention?
Attempt to find secular value in the sermon?
Let your mind wander?
Look at the other people?
Play games on your cell phone?

Christos (Christ) = Messiah

Jesus was the Jewish Messiah so the one that comes later and claims to be one is the FALSE Messiah.

Anti-christ or Anti-messiah is not as accurate.

http://membres.lycos.fr/naturalelation/hpbimg/3489.jpg,she would always yell at me and tell me how i should change it because she doesn't like it and i looked like a crazy person with my hair half done and how she doesn't want that in her house. fine. i relaxed my hair now it's ''god didn't make you that way'' she argues if i want to wear my sleeves short saying how i'm naked and how a child of god is suppose to be covered and what not. when she talks to you, it's not in a i'm trying to entreat you kind of way she wells and wants it her way!!! if i want to go to my cousins house, she brings up an argument saying how girls should keep our feet in our own house and learn to cook.(if your jamaican, just imagine her saying that in a jamaican accent)lol. anyways, she yells at me

The following exerpt was copied and pasted from the Creation Museum website. I was slightly shocked to read this:

"The Creation Museum goes far beyond mere science. It doesn’t elevate man’s intellect by using science to “prove” Scripture. Instead, God’s Word is placed first and human reason is last."

Do you just try not to think about it and hope for the best? Do you think God has a bad side? Do you simply assume the OT was written by men and the violent events never happened? If so, then why do you think the rest of the bible is accurate?

how many of you are highly religous? How many of you are ethical shoppers or does cost win over ethics.

I guess what I'm trying to say is it about time that we stopped trying to raise money to feed the world and started boycoting products from certain countries in hopes that it will lead to better work conditions and pay? So that they may get themselves out of poverty.

I was pondering this abstractly...what do you think of the following? How would you improve it? What do you do?

Observe: be mindful of what you do and think back over the past day, week or year to learn from your past what went good and why.

Identify: for the things which went not so good, figure out the mistakes you made, identify the errors.

Modify: plan to do things differently in similar situations in future.

Write: write down a 'rule' to guide you away from repeating the mistake. The rule may not be always followed, but you are aware of it.

Remember: periodically review your rules so that you do not forget them!
