When my niece is visiting for a few days I just ask my husband if he wants to "take a nap". Since naps are non-existant usually, he gets the point.

I have no kids as yet, but whenever that situation comes up I'd say... "hon could I see you... in private"

When he does I'd make sure the door is locked and get down to business....

Depending on the kids' ages, it's naptime if they are young. If they are older and would know anything about it, forget it until later. haha.

My best friend and her husband tell their 5 year old that they need to "talk about taxes." I think it's so funny!

tell them to go look for a item in the bedroom(which you know is not there)and when they shout down that they cant find it-tell them your coming :-)
