I've being doing some research into the hebrew old testament, and the word that commomly means 'day' (yowm) can actually mean 'aeon'. Also, I remember some passage in the bible where Jesus is explaining that a day to us is not like a day to the lord, he gives an example..

People say god cannot interfere when something awful happens such as a child drowning in a car, or burning up in a fire, because of the whole free will thing, and yet you always hear religious ppl thanking god for much less important things such as helping them have a child after years of failed attempts, or winning the lottery or helping them get off drugs. My point is, that if he isnt going to help innocent children, what in the wold makes you people think he cares whether or not you ever have kids or any insignificant thing like that? Free will goes both ways right?

Which one is correct??--Christ said calling him Lord Lord is meaningless unless you obey--like treating all as you would like to be treated--like loving your enemies--like turning the other cheek.Why do some Christians insist they are saved--yet feel free to disobey Christ by judging & condemning others???

I got up early one morning and rushed right into the day.
I had so much to accomplish that I didn't have time to pray.
Problems just tumbled about me, and heavier came the task.
"Why doesn't God help me?" I wondered. He answered, "You didn't ask."
I wanted to see joy and beauty, but the day toiled on, gray and bleak.
I wondered why God didn't show me. He said "But you didn't seek."
I tried to come into God's presence; I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided, "My child, you didn't knock."
I woke up early this morning, and paused before entering the day;
I had so much to accomplish that I had to take a little time to pray.

There is a person on here who is very anti Catholic and I mean very anti Catholic, he is CJ, see profile below, he really annoys me with his answers, sometimes I feel like emailing him and explaining to him how wrong he is, but I know he won't listen

Could you please pray that he sees the errors of his way and realise that we are Christians and see us as God's children as well?

calls and tells you his/her father died last night and asks if you would be a pallbearer at the funeral. You know that your friends dad was a Christian man, and you know the funeral will be in the church he belongs to. You also know that the preacher will have a sort of sermon in the church and also at the cemetery along with prayer. Do you say OK to being a pallbearer, or do you say no? If you say yes, what would you do at the sermon part of things? What would you do when they pray? Would you try to think of other things? Would you not pray? Or, would you just sort of "fake it?" Just sort of go through the motions all while thinking how stupid this is and kind of wish you would have made up an excuse -said no- to begin with. What would you do in such a situation?

Jews or Christians?

Jews believe the Messiah is yet to come. Christians believe Jesus was born from a virgin. Regardless, both religions believe Christ would be born from a vigin.

The only way I can see a virgin birth possible is through InVitro Fertilization. That is the only way a virgin could have a baby, and the technology for Invetro fertilization was not available 2000 years ago, which makes me believe the Jews are the ones who were right. Jews believe Jesus was only a man, a profit, but only a man nonetheless.

What do you think of a Virgin Birth though Invetrofertilization? That IS possible right?

I have heard that slaves built them, but that doesn't sound right to me. The pyramids are nearly perfectly built, and the blocks that they are built of are huge and heavy. This seems like way too much work for a slave to do. I think they were built by aliens from outerspace.

Okay so me and my 2 neighbors are trying to get our upstairs neighbor(we live in an apartment complex) to turn his music down as it is 3:21am and we all have kids to get up to in the morning. Superintendant can't get him to answer the door and the police can't get him to either. They both suspect he is passed out and unable to hear the music. We don't have access to the hydro room to cut his hydro so we don't know how to get him to turn down his effing music. He playing that really heavy bass rap music and it is echoing through the whole building. What would you do next? We can't call the bilaw office as they aren't open til 9am so we are stuck here any suggestions would be great.
