BuyCostumes.com (which the plus-size Rosie O'Donnell swears by) has many plus-sized costumes. They don't always say how large the costumes are (some just say "plus") so if you are very large you'd probably be better off going with a robe-type thing that flows and doesn't need an exact fit. Good luck, have fun.

Another idea is to buy a pair of super-large surgical scrubs from a medical supply store and go as a doctor. Better yet: get some fake blood and do something crazy with your hair and go as a mad doctor. I know I've seen IV bags filled with fake blood sold at Halloween shops. You can also just wear a t-shirt and jeans and accessorize with a mask, fake blood, makeup, pitchfork and devil ears, etc.

Being a guy, what I am going as for Halloween might work, if you want the comedy angle. I am a large woman, and it is hard to find good costumes as well. This year thanks to my son's suggestion. I am going as a lunch lady. Simple costume and your size don't matter.
Last year, I went as a disguised Slitheen (from Dr. Who). Those aliens had to use large people to hide in. I used small pieces of latex from a mask my husband altered to hold a zipper to my forehead. Under the zipper a small glow stick. It work pretty good.
Some costume places do have large people costumes. Personally, I would look at the costumes for rent and get ideas from those. If you are crafty, you can make a pretty good copy.

The best place to go for a costume for ur body type is a costume shop. They have pre- packaged costumes in larger sizes available. Although the sizes are rare, you can find them. Start looking now because they go quick. Also the costume shops have costumes you can rent. Many times they are able to alter them to your fit. I warn you though, it might get expensive. Yet if money is no object, ask around for anyone who is a seamstress that might be able to help you. I am not plus size but it is still difficult for even me to find one that fits. The size scales they use sometimes is ridiculous. My friend is large and we found him a Zoot suit in the clearance bin at our local costume store... so it is possible. Remember find a costume shop that caters to events and furnishes costumes to school functions, costume balls, etc. Good luck!

Try going to a Goodwill or Salvation army store and just looking around at the clothes. Have a few costume ideas in mind and see if they have anything you could use. For example, biker dude-if you find old biker style jackets. Zombie if you find an old suit.Super Mario if you find a pair of white overall painters pants. You could even cross dress as Queen Elizabeth's nightmare if you found a long formal dress,or bride from hell. You can always dress in all black with a flowing black cape and paint your face or wear a mask.Or you could research those crazy Wide World of Wrestling guys and dress like one of them. There's lots of options. Homemade costumes are the best.

If there's a costume rental place near you, a clown costume is usually pretty good.

you could also make your own!
get any scary mask that you like, dress in all black and buy a black cape(most are fairly large and fit most)
find a box big enough to go over your body and paint it anyway you like(T.V., computer, airplane, box of candy and so on) cut out a hole for you head, two for arms and cut out the bottom for your legs.
you can probly get big boxes from applience stores.
