Ok.
I'm 16.So,i live with my parents.
My parents ane Catholic, and I've been raised one.
But I don't believe in anything they say.
I don't beleive in the death penalty,I'm okay with euthanasia, suicide and abortion(btw-please don't leave mean comments on my beliefs,I have my reasons).I beleive in anarchy.
So,do you think I would still be chatholic?
Cause I'm pretty much the opposite.

Christians say Heaven is a 'gift' from Jesus that you can either accept or reject, well what kind of 'gift' involves consequences for saying "no thank you" ?

Why does God toture people because they declined a gift?

None of us is getting any younger and, having recently been chastised for speaking ill of the dead by telling a few home truths about the late Lady Diana Spencer, I'd like to balance the account with a comment or two about her mother-in-law.
There is however, nothing bad I can find to say about this lady.
She has, from the very beginning of her illustrious reign, behaved in perfect accord with the dignity of her office, while all around her others have let the side down in various ways.
She even survived the appalling situation created by Lady Diana's popularity with the unthinking masses, which obliged her to engage in ridiculous "walkabouts" outside the palace.
Her steadfastly dignified behaviour has been a credit to Great Britain, the British Commonwealth and the concept of monarchy itself. God save Your Majesty!

If your children didn't want to go to church with you
(old enough to be home alone)
would you let them stay home?
Would you be angry?
Would you make them go?
What would you do / how would you feel?

Kids need time sometimes to figure some things out for themselves. Would you give that room or be insistant that they go in fear that the path they chose would not be one you agree with?

Serious answers please.

Sending 2/3 of the entire human population to be tortured for the rest of eternity when they didn't even do anything wrong is something that makes Hitler look like a toddler.

I mean, 2 wrongs don't make a right do they?

I am against homosexuality aka I don't believe homosexual couples should adopt, marry (although I do believe they should be given the same tax and other benefits any other sexually active couple would after living together a certain period of time), and I do not believe it is healthy.

That being said, I have gay friends, including a couple very close friends who happen to by homosexual, but that makes no difference to me. They know my views and I (obviously) know they are gay, but I like them just the same.

So am I homophobic just because I take a stance against homosexuality? Or am I not because I am accepting of the people despite my beliefs?

I personally believe I am not homophobic, I just want to know what other people feel.

He had no servants yet they called Him Master. No degree yet they called Him Teacher. No medicines yet they called Him Healer. No army yet Kings feared Him. He won no military battles yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb yet He lives today.

(A dedication for the people who knows Him.)
a form of survey...

Blessed Be!

God reuses ancient Greek astronomy (which Thales, the "father of science," also believed) in his explanation of universe creation. The theory became very popular throughout Europe and Israel. It says the universe is actually an ocean, the flat earth separated from the ocean by a bubble, and the earth, it's moon and sun floating in the ocean (this was before gravity was known).

In the opening of Genesis he talks of the earth being formless in the "deep," while he moves across the waters (universe). He then says he divided the upper waters from lower waters, gathers the lower waters to one spot and creates dry land.

He also reuses various characters and epics from Babylonian mythos, such as Adapa (Adam & Eve), Ningishzida (serpent), Atra-Hasis (flood, among others), Epic of Gilgamesh, Enûma Eliš, etc...

Why did God feel it necessary to reuse human-made theories and mythos? Why not just tell it like it is? After all, Genesis is divinely inspired and not made by people, right?

...don't you feel that those of us who are skeptical devote more time than we should to the narrow views of an anti-American Christian cult which is, globally, of scant significance? As for me, as an American who came of age in the company of fierce believers, I have questions honest questions which only 'thinking' Christians could answer for me. The fundamentalists are what they are, rather pitiful, brainwashed folks who are, as cultists, fixated on a god of their own making.
