I can't beat Java's, but I have a couple of instances that I can mention. One very cold winter during a snow storm, a friend's dog got loose near a high-speed road and she wasn't wearing a collar and had just had a botched grooming job where the groomer had actually shaved off all her fur. My family and I prayed for her safety and return, though it seemed impossible....and through nearly incredible circumstances, she was returned and in good shape (even though, by rights, she could have frozen to death). Yes, God answers prayer. Another time I had a wallet stolen in a city. I didn't have my driver's license in it (or credit cards), but still I prayed that the Lord would somehow return it to me. That VERY night, I received a call from a stranger saying he had found my wallet in a trashcan and had searched and found buried inside an old school i.d. card that must have been there for years (and forgotten)...I received my wallet back within three days. The man had even put a bit of money inside (I didn't have any except a bit of change), because he thought the thieves had stolen all my money and didn't want to return it empty.

My dad was a hardcore Atheist. I've been witnessing to him and praying for him ever since I became a Christian 25 years ago. He passed away this May. He was saved and baptized 4 days before he passed. That was a pretty amazing answer to prayer. God bless!!

All prayers are answered, it's just that sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes no, and sometimes not now.
As for having prayers "answered" in the way you want, I think too many of us have the habit of saying "if you will grant me this thing, I will (do whatever)" It's like trying to bargain with God, and most people don't mean it or even remember their promises.
Too many of us ask for stuff and forget to just thank Him for what we do have. Prayer shouldn't always contain the words "I want"

The first prayer I had answered was when I was four years old, I prayed for my uncle's aunt who was dying; I knelt beside the bed at her chair and while I was still praying she got up
out of bed and went into the kitchen to prepare a meal for her household
we serve an awesome God!

Yes. My prayers were answered when I became pregnant with my daughters. This seemed impossible. We had tried for years and we finally decided to go to fertility. I was only willing to go as far as medication, not invitro... but before I was even diagnosed, I concieved! And with twins no less! I really began to believe that miracles could happen then...

I have seen and experienced a LOT of answered prayers. One I really remember is when my dad and I laid hands on a man and prayed for him. He was hospitalized and having his leg removed that afternoon because of severe diabetis. It was swollen and purple. After praying for him, dad and I went home and he called 2 hours later asking to come see us. He was being released from the hospital. When the Dr. came to look at it again just before surgery God had healed him! His leg was normal again and the Dr. had no explanation other than God did it.

Yes, several times. It was financial and several things that had to come together at the same times and it seemed impossible. Usually its at the last minute and its wonderful to see how God worked everything out. He loves us so much.

Nothing fails like prayer:

Jesus Lied About Prayer
"Jesus is quoted many times in the Bible saying that a believer can ask for anything through prayer and receive it. He even goes so far as to say that mountains and trees can be thrown into the sea simply by praying for it. This is clearly a lie, and can be proven to be a lie by any believer."

"In a long-awaited comprehensive scientific study on the effects of intercessory prayer on the health and recovery of 1,802 patients undergoing coronary bypass surgery in six different hospitals, prayers offered by strangers had no effect. In fact, contrary to common belief, patients who knew they were being prayed for had a higher rate of post-operative complications such as abnormal heart rhythms, possibly the result of anxiety caused by learning that they were being prayed for and thus their condition was more serious than anticipated."
