In my opinion...any kind of witchcraft or sorcery is considered satanic, and people don't realize the impact that it has on people (especially young ones) when they watch it on the big screen...nor do they care! I don't condone it, or let me kids watch that stuff!

Even more valuable than a harmless fun: Harry and his friends are fighting against the Evil. Noone ever accused good old fairy tales and folklore legends to be evil or harmful because their heroes had supernatural powers. On the contrary, they were always supported as a traditional means of education, helping children to distinct Good from Evil. And I find Harry Potter very useful and stimulating especially for the children that feel to be "different" - I mean children with real problems, handicapped or with too high IQ's, whatever, not little "wizards" and "witches" - it helps them to realize that they can discover their own world where they will be strong and powerful.

And I'm flipping through my Bible at the moment... an interesting part in Samuel I, 1:1-25. I recommend it. :)

A book under the guise of humor explores witchcraft and sorcery and communicates with metaphores white/black magic to teach their students. Ultimately the result of this teaching is to unleash the magic which is hidden within them.

The bible forbids this on all accounts weather Jew or non-Jew. The story of the witch in the city of En-Dore where King Saul went to visit was supposed to have been put to death by the command that was given previously by King Saul which was that all witches must die, but Saul allowed her to live because his heart was not right with the L-rd.

He saught the witch to sum up prophet Samuel from the dead because of his greif and the ending result of it was the death of the king by the prophetic utterance which was given to him as a result of having gone to see the witch.

The truth about Harry Potter? It's a fictional book written by JK Rowling. She's a genius woman. If people weren't so set on believing what they hear, they would find out that the book is no way demonic or evil.

WTF...have you seen the movies?!?....heheheeeee. Are we going to ban the Narnia books too?!? There are witches in there too.

The Potter books and movies are ENTERTAINMENT. Granted, the movies get 'darker' as the story evolves--like people that die, but that is LIFE--people do die.

Sure the story line gets MORE involved as it goes along---basically cuz it 'grows up' just as the readers/watchers have matured. Think about it the FIRST book came out what 7 yrs ago!!!

Watch the movies, read the books...judge for yourself. Just cuz the use the word 'WITCH' doesn't make it BAD. Yes, the term 'wtich' does appear in MODERN biblical translations, but not in the same usage in the old languages. Like in the verse, 'Do not suffer a 'witch' to live"---the term used prior was 'one who curses'. Which would be apt to describe a christian that says 'YOU are going to hell'.

In spite of Christian Propaganda, most WITCH groups/religions/traditions don't get into 'cursing' or doing 'bad' things to people. Why sterotype people based on a word. It would be like saying people should stay away from Christians since they are SINNERS!!!! If a sinner is willing to LIE and DEFY their OWN god, truth is NOTHING is sacred to them.

Are the Chronicles of Narnia or Eragon demonic teachings? What makes Harry Potter dangerous?

It is a way to indoctrinate children into witchcraft in a seemingly harmless way. That the masses think it is harmless is just another proof of the judgment this country is already experiencing.

The foremost evidence of judgment is the ramped homosexuality, and the acceptance of it.

If I scratch and sniff, I smell smoke.

here we go again.

IT IF A FICTION BOOK. A FAIRY TALE. A STORY.

there are 2 references in Harry Potter to any actual Pagan Magic, and that is probably an accident.

Caput Draconis and Fortuna Major (passwords to the Griffendor house common room) are Geomancic (earth divination) runes.

there could be 3, if you consider FLUFFY to actually be Cerberus the guardian of the gate of hell..but he was not in hell he was in a tower.....

big WHOOP the kids learn magic... by this reasoning.

The Little Mermaid,
Cinderella,
Beauty and the Beast,
Fantasia,
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Sleeping Beauty
and EVERY FAIRY TALE EVER TOLD.

are the work of Satan.

now Go burn your Daughter's barbie dolls before they inspire lust for a 7 foot 8 blonde with a 19 inch neck in your husband...

****************************

i am sorry i had to add.

as a Pagan Priest and practicioner of magic.

there is one bit of magic about thoes books that i do not think that anyone can deny...

they got my 8 year old niece to put away the XBOX and READ A BOOK. that in itself is not so great. but they got 20 million other kids to do the same...now that IS magic.

Christians today lighten up over the Potter books because they actually bothered to read them after the hype. Years ago Christians used to burn the books, disallow their kids to read them, etc... some still do, of course.

It's funny how Christians are - they tend to violently go against things without knowing what they are, but then, like sheep, follow the trend in the end and become OK with it.

Today Christians (most, not all) are against racism, sexism, etc... but just look what the bible says about those issues! 100 years from now Christians will support gay rights too - because they're sheep just waiting to follow the next herd.
