I concede that believers believe in god, which is fine and dandy, but its impossible as a human to not, even for a fraction of a second, entertain the question of where did your god come from.

Now most theists respond with something like, "god is eternal", or "god is everything" which sounds great until you get really honest with yourselves and ask, "is this REALLY a satisfying answer?"

I'm not saying you don't believe it, or that your faith isn't strong, but does it FEEL comfortable? Isn't there a nagging part of you that wants to know how or why your god came about? Or, can you simply squash this question with, "god has always existed" every time you feel it rise, and not feel cheated?

Also, do you think your god is sentient, and if so, wouldn't a god which purposely created other sentient beings also have the capacity to question it's own existence, it's purpose, and perhaps even it's own demise?

Does your god wonder how it came to be, or if it could end itself if it wanted?

Hello, Its Aliyah, (A.K.A. Bella swan) I dont know why I could never understand the meaning of god, Its like, Why belive in somthing if it hasent been proven! I wondered about that before..I have friends who are atheists..and they are really sweet..but Ive always wanted to know why they dont believe in God..or if they did at one time..but didnt understand why bad things happened and nothing was ever done...I just wondered...

I don't know if it's just me but I just find this kind of reasoning as pointless.
You say it's god for the sake of belief and nothing more.
If you did follow scientific thinking and reasoning, you'd see that god, even though unprovable, is above 50% improbable.
Scientists work their asses off all day and then comes along this person saying "god did that".

Some atheists choose to just let them be.
But I can't even do that. I just find it that they're not reasoning the right way, and it's frustrating to me becasue it's very clear when you see it!!!

Were it not for this childish conviction that there's an entity who thinks anal sex is a nono, and whose evil doings must be ultimately good, they would be reasonable on a whole new level.
I just hate this moderate, trying to reconcile the god thing with scientific discovery, kind of thinking.

What do you feel about that? I know I might be a bit on the extreme side but...

A Christian told me that the Bible gave the land from the Nile to the Euphrates and they have a divine right to take it away from anyone without compensation.

I have argued that having faith is a necessary property for believing in God. I mean what else would allow you to believe in such a thing? The Bible? But to that at face value is to commit circular reasoning. Such as my essay is without error because I say so in my essay.
So must one have faith to believe in God!

b/c they are white, latino just means you were born in a spanish speaking country, it has nothing to do with race , yet people are soo ignorant they assume mexicans for ex. are short and dark, if you google alexis bledel, who plays rory on gilmore girls , you'll know i'm right, she's latina, or hispanic , whatever the term you may use for spanish speaking people is and she is a very pale, blue eyed tall girl, with chestnut hair-btw she is mexican and argentinan and she didnt know how to speak english until she went to kindergarten b/c she only knew spanish,

you know it is possible for there to be white hispanics, what do you consider people from spain? they are white and a lot of their descendants went to latin america..if i know this much ..why are people soo ignorant?

So I accept the facts (for you ppl who have read my other questions) that being a plus size woman is very unattractive to most men.

I have discovered this from 1) being overweight and 2) being overweight with a good personality and have thin friends who are one demtional

anywho, I know know but I am still often shocked by HOW superficial men are like

1.) maintaining a relationship with abusive women but they are attractive

2.) ignoring women who must look different than the standards even though they are genuwine

etc. ANYONE ELSE FEEL THIS WAY?

I have had additional reports of Hate crime cropping up over the country- a 20 year old woman in West Va was horrifically tortured and forced to eat animal fece, sexually abused and stabbed over the course of a week- She is slightly mentally retarded. I understand being religious, but religion is really old. At this point in time, it is just passed down from generation to generation, so the complete explanation of its origin is lost. And forget about the bible, I am talking about the basics of religion. Nowadays, people are just blindly following religion because that is what has been passed down to them. The afterlife is the promise of Jesus. But what can we do in that afterlife? Things that define happiness are all earth based. Getting married, having a child, making love, just watching your favorite movie. Does heaven have HBO on demand?
Or is heaven a place where people achieve a state of permanent happiness like being constantly high on drugs? To me heaven sounds like an ultimate dream of a junky.
