other religions?
for example countries like Turkey, Iran, some African nations.
Also the president of Iran wants to kill all Jewish people and Americans because they don't worship the God of Islam. ANd they are different gods. the God of the Bible and or Torah is NOT the God of Islam.

Christians have the Bible and the Ten Commandments. I'm just curious about where pagan doctrine comes from.

Let's open this up for discussion, and tell how our morals and values change the way we get by.

NOTE: No poop-slinging or abusing other people for what they share! This is meant to be a good place for people to share how they're affected by their religion, because it's a part of our identity and it contributes greatly to our personal development and our perception of right/wrong.

So spill, I want to know :-)

And when the question is drawing to a close, I'll share on how I feel my faith affects my actions.

Lastly - Thanks in advance for your input, it's all really appreciated!

Peace :-)

It's got to incense the one whom John the Baptist said was the Savior of all mankind

To see all religions claiming this way and that way, instead of just the simple message:

Justification for everyone has come for all mankind.

Don't ya see what you have to repent of in order to find rest?

It's your belief that YOUR faith is saving you.

It's God's faithfullness that has saved all mankind at the cross.

Salvation has come to all mankind.

Yeah, but but but, then we don't have to do anything?

That was the point.

Why do I hear the term finite minds so often. What does that even mean. Here is what I find especially ironic. Christians get so mad when someone calls them stupid, but then they announce to everyone that they are stupid by arguing that only God is smart.

Is your way the "only" way to San Jose?

If yes, are you quoting Jesus in the right verb tense?

or, Are you simply quoting some early church leader who claimed he saw a hologram, and that hologram told him that Jesus wasted 3 years telling us how to get to San Jose?

This is a question for which there is no "correct" answer. It is not a challenge, and I don't think anyone here is going to try and keep track of your responses, but in the interest of mutual understanding, I want to ask one question of you:

What event or experience in your life drove you to (and continues to animate your devotion to) atheism?

Though there is no "right" answer, I'm going to go out on a limb and say there is what I'd consider to be a "wrong" one: if you respond that it was purely a matter of rational inference, I shall declare you a liar, a coward, or perhaps just too suspicious to answer honestly. I'm talking about the existential or "human" element which made your atheism more than just an abstract idea...what is it that made it personal... what is it that continues to make it a thing worthy of your emotional investment?

Almost everybody on the planet gesticulates (gestures with hands) when they are speaking directly to somebody. Sometimes the movements are subtle. Often the gesticulation becomes more pronounced as passion about the conversation topic increases.

Many people will gesticulate while on the phone, even though they cannot see the other person, yet know that they are there and exist, as part of an ingrained part of their communication patterns. (I watched another driver talking on their Bluetooth alone in their car today as a prime example)

What about those of you who pray? Do you gesticulate while praying? Or is there some deep, hidden, kernel in your brain that tells you there isn't really anything to gesture passionately to?

i wanted to hear some opinions about this:

Can music raise questions about society's norms and values?
Examples?

I was thinking... who wouldn't question music w/ all its encouragement of violence, sex, and drugs? Although to some, this music may be a bit extreme, the music actually reflects our society. Our rising obsessions with money (materialism), sex, and drugs are all reflected in music. It has become normal for people to have premarital sex, to drink and party everyday, and to do drugs like cocaine, especially because the music constantly exposes us to it, which makes us think it's alright for us to do it. It very much sickens me. What is society heading for? O, Brave New World.... It scares me to think about the next 50 years because i know it'll be much worse.
