It won't be an acceptable confession if I witheld things from the priest. My sins would not be forgiven. So I always say, "there may be other sins that I can not recall right now so I ask for your absolution for those sins too."

We are confessing our sins to Christ through the Priest. The Priest is just the Mediator. Confession guarantess the forgiveness of sins! We are to confess generally all our sins, we must examine our conscience fully before going to confession inorder to recieve forgiveness for those sins. God bless.
And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. "If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained." John 20:22-23

All serious or "mortal" sins must be confessed, or you're just wasting your time, as only ONE unconfessed and unforgiven mortal sin is enough to possibly land you in hell.
Those who insist on confessing directly to God won't know whether he's accepted their apology until Judgment Day, while Catholics enjoy God's absolute assurance of forgiveness right here and right now, courtesy of his authentic church.
Which do you think is the better deal?

When Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, did youknow that God rent the veil to the altar. Jesus Christ was the ultimate sacrifice... He is the high preist. You confess your sins to no mortal man but to the one true high priest Jesus Christ. Catholics fall under the old law (covenant) . That was the purpose of him dieing on the cross. Mark 15:38, Heb.9:8,24; 10:19-22

I am a Christian so I confess my sins directly to God through Jesus my Lord. Why should I tell a priest that can't know anything about the Word of God or he would not be impersonating God.

Sacramental Confession is intended for our serious sins.
If you're going to conceal them, what would be the point?
God knows everything anyway, so why conceal them?
The whole point is to examine your conscience.
If you don't acknowledge the sin, how can you be forgiven?
The priest isn't going to be shocked, or even remember.
He's heard everything before.

You don't need to confess to a priest. You confess your sins to God. As long as you are sincere and repent, believe and accept Jesus as your personal saviour, you will be save.

I think it depends on the denomination that your church is under. I believe (if I'm not mistaken) that Catholics believe in confessing sins to a priest, but I personally don't... I confess my sins to God in prayer and ask Him directly for forgiveness. :-)
Each to their own, though!
