I've always been taught that if you draw near to God, He will draw near to you.
I'm not EXACTLY sure how to do this. But it starts with Prayer (talking to God), reading your Bible and daily meditation.

If you were asking this question in the physical realm you would be asking how to be healthy. Physically there are three things you need to do to be healthy. 1, Eat healthy food. 2) breathe clean air. 3) exercise. In the spiritual realm the three things you need to do are 1) feed on the Word of God 2) Pray constantly 3) serve the Lord in ministry. Just keep at it and you will grow spiritually healthy and be closer to God.

Get some worship music and play it at home, when you can be alone with God, He is just like a person. He loves on us when we love on Him.And just start thanking Him for all He has done for you and start worshiping Him and see what happens. Sing a song to Him or just turn everything off and meditate on Him and His Goodness.
And when you pray tell Him that you want to be closer to Him and He will come closer to you. He is faithful.

There's a great book out now called HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT. You can buy it through amazon.com or at your local Christian book store.
The author said he longed for a closer walk with Christ and the book is about how to do that. It's about the 7 virtues that Peter wrote about in the Bible. It's an EXCELLENT book and it might help you.
Sometimes we reach a plateau and feel like we aren't making any progress in our relationship with Christ and this book helps understand what Peter was talking about when he spoke of the virtues.

Pray and ask him to help you to be closer to him. Read the Bible, HIs Word; it will guide you. DOn't worry, it's normal; people always feel so far away from GOd and they think about all the bad stuff they've done and that God won't forgive them so they kinda ignore HIm becasue they don't wanna face HIm. But you can fix all that by simply just praying to Him and asking for forgiveness and asking Him to be closer to you

I am a Christian. If you believe in your heart that Jesus is the Christ and that God raised him from the dead you shall be saved. You need to confess your faith verbally. Read Romans 10:9-11.
After you have accepted Christ as your savior, just read your bible and talk to the Lord in prayer every day. You talk to him like you talk to anyone; but remember to be reverent. He is God.
That is all you need to do. The Holy Spirit which is automatically granted when you accept Christ will guide you to all truth. You can also visit a Christian book store and read more about the Lord. I recommend Billy Graham's book on the Holy Spirit.

Make prayer a habit, sharing all your needs, concerns and feelings with God- Colossians 4:2; Philippians 4:6,7
Listen to and obey God-Proverbs 19:20
Do not seek as close friends those who would damage your relationship with God- Proverbs 13:20

Read your Bible everyday. Pray a lot and be faithful. Try doing some good things like visiting Nursing Homes, Volunteer at hospitals, help out some charities and stay in touch with God everyday thru prayer and Bible study.

ok well prayer is SUPER important and so is reading from the Bible it says in the Bible that the Word of God feeds our spirit. And a great website is godtube.com and search Revival Hymn, its extermly good. and also search Shocking Youth Message Stuns Hearers-So Shocking & Biblica. Also go to ravenhill.org(make sure its .ORG) and then listen to some of his sermons, they are very passionate. One more VERY important thing is that you need to realize that you are either on the worlds side or Gods side. You either love the people and try to please them or you try to please God. In the Bible it says that and in the Bible God also says that He spits the warm people out, God wants us to either be 100% with Him or 100% with the world. For what does light have to do with darkness? PLEASE DON'T FORGET THIS! Many Christians in America today have forgotten this and become dull, because many are now just "warm" instead of "hot" for God, and LISTEN to what the Bible says and not as much to humans because humans mess up a lot with words. Meditate on God and He will reveal whats TRUE, to you.

Pray, fast, read your bible... listen to good gospel music as often as you can. Get together with other Christains and share your days together talking about God and heaven and other spiritual things. you will start feeling Gods spirit next to you a lot
