We pray....

"Thank you Lord for this food.
Please bless it to our bodies and bless the hands that prepared it.
In Jesus name.
Amen"

Prayer is a simple communication with God. he already knows you heart, but want you to acknowledge him, so He can DO THINGS FOR YOU !
As far as food goes, it is ALWAYS good to pray over food, because the Lord can take the "nasty" , the stuff that can harm your body, from it, with just a simple "ask".
I usually say this : Lord, I thank you for this food. I ask you to take anything out of this that would be harmful to my body , and let it be nutrition for my flesh. In Jesus name...

You can just sit there in front of you lunch and just sit and pray. You can say this as your prayer:
"Thank you God for this delicious lunch. Without this, I won't have any energy for my job/etc."

You don't have to do the sign of the cross if you're too embrassed, just bow your head. ^^

Well one thing when you pray you don't have to use ancient english, God knows all languages . I pray a short prayer to God thanking him for providing for me & for my brotherhood and perhaps anything else that he would appreiate from me

Keep it simple, there is no need for formality. Adapt these ideas to suit yourself.

Lord, thank you for this meal, may it nourish my body so that I can serve you.

Lord, I thank you for this food, bless the hands of the one who provided, and the one who prepared it for me.

Lord, thank you for the food before me and the friends beside me.

you are asking people to tell you what to pray,... You don't ask people what to tell you to say when at your work place... YOu just talk like you know the person.. I don't know if you are "Christian"( that believes Jesus died on the cross for your sins), but it is a relationship, and not a thing you just talk to to get wishes out of.... God is King... you would never talk to one that way would you.....

The bible says that we don't know how to pray, therefore the Spirit intercedes for us. If you don't have the Holy Spirit, then ask God to fill you with it.
