I don't know if it's just me but I just find this kind of reasoning as pointless.
You say it's god for the sake of belief and nothing more.
If you did follow scientific thinking and reasoning, you'd see that god, even though unprovable, is above 50% improbable.
Scientists work their asses off all day and then comes along this person saying "god did that".
Some atheists choose to just let them be.
But I can't even do that. I just find it that they're not reasoning the right way, and it's frustrating to me becasue it's very clear when you see it!!!
Were it not for this childish conviction that there's an entity who thinks anal sex is a nono, and whose evil doings must be ultimately good, they would be reasonable on a whole new level.
I just hate this moderate, trying to reconcile the god thing with scientific discovery, kind of thinking.
What do you feel about that? I know I might be a bit on the extreme side but...

ugga wugga.
there's no way to prove, disprove, or in any way evaluate the existence of god through science.
god is spiritual and science deals only with the physical.
can god set up the universe so that the laws of nature are true? surely, but the universe would look exactly the same either way.
OF COURSE they say it's god for the sake of belief and nothing more. that's what it's all about!

If God is 50% improbable, then do some research in the mathematical chance of evolution occurring for just a single self replicating DNA strand. I've read it's to the order of 1/10^400, with only 10^80 electrons in the universe, the odds aren't looking great. Oh, and anything less then 1/10^50 is considered 0, uh oh

Tryng to prove that god exists is like trying to prove that 2+2=4. But the scientific community does not carry out some kind of war against religion. Its because some religious people take up issue with things like Evolution, and age of the earth and how long has man been here. etc. and try to put these alternate and unproven theories into public schools and the like.

its not extreme, some atheists dont care one way or the other but I think its vital that we speak out to these dogma groups because they are totally brainwashing people and it does slow the progression of science.
Some people just cant let go of what they were brought up with their whole lives; having someone or something think for them, living their lives in fear.
Thanks for asking this questions and I do hate when people use the god tactic.

No, it's completely reasonable that god works through science. If god exists he created the laws and principles that make the universe "work". It is also totally reasonable the he would have left his "mark" on it rather that hiding and leaving every evidence that he didn't touch it.

It doesn't really bother me, but only because it's such a silly argument. You could just say any scientific advance is just "discovering" how god works. The statement has no meaning.

Humans are not 100% logical creatures though. You've gotta consider the emotional stupid side. They fear death so they like to think that they'll go to some magical happy land where they'll be happy forever, even if its an empty promise.

Personally, I think it's stupid. I treat them the same as I would treat any child that absolutely insists on the existence of the Tooth Faeire...it's cute and I'll humor them as far as I feel like it, but I don't let their silly fantasies bother me any - what's the point? Let them believe what they want to believe, insofar as it causes no harm to you. Life's too short to hate people who aren't hurting you.

I laugh at the Christians who spend day and night trying to find existence to there lives by saying god did this and god did that and he made me so im not worthless and blah blah blah. IT doesn't bother me that there saying god did this because at least there ******* acknowledging we didn't just ******* come from a rib or dirt or wtf ever else!
